Trio II (Two) Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, ...
Asylum Records, 1999
Powerful voices This album might not have been as successful as the original TRIO album from 1987, but I think it's even better. The song selection is very strong, and the songs suit these ladies very well. The harmonies are beautiful. There's nothing more I could ask for from this ...

All the Roadrunning Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris
Warner Bros / Wea, 2006
Timely music for troubled times This CD doesn't have a bad track. On top of that, the first song, Beachcombing, is great to sing along with! I like to think I do a pretty good Mark Knopfler impression, and to be able to harmonize with Emmy Lou at the same time is awesome. Buy it!

Red Dirt Girl Emmylou Harris
Nonesuch, 2000
Emmylou Rocks What a beautiful voice! She's great solo doing her own songs although I really like her teamed with Mark Knopfler. A must have for lovers of great music.

Wrecking Ball Emmylou Harris
Asylum Records, 1995
Emmylou dressed in barbed wire.... Some time shortly after this was released, I was fortunate enough to catch a free Emmylou concert in Nashville, courtesy of the Thursday afternoon "Dancing in the District" series on the banks of the Cumberland. Most of her material that day came from this CD, with ...

All I Intended to Be Emmylou Harris
Nonesuch, 2008
50something Emmylou sounds like she is experiencing life that has past and looking ahead toward her future. Only her future is not of this world. The things that used to be important, such as children, love, and possessions are no longer needed. The only thing she needs now is ...

Duets Emmylou Harris
Reprise / Wea, 1990
Classic Emmylou The harmonies here are exquisite. Not sure what album Amazon's reviewer listened to, but this, as with most of her work, showcases Emmylou at her best.
And, not to sound too nitpicky, but how can anyone who claims to be a true fan spell her name Emmy Lou?

Real Live Roadrunning (with DVD) Mark Knopfler, Emmylou Harris
Warner Bros / Wea, 2006
Great music, mediocre video 1. The music on the CD and the DVD is flat-out wonderful. Heavy, constant rotation on the in-home and in-car music systems. Can't get Romeo and Juliet out of my head. Boulder to Birmingham and Red Dirt Girl are stunning. Get a towel for If This is Goodbye (and note the ...

The Very Best of Emmylou Harris: Heartaches and Highways Emmylou Harris
Rhino / Wea, 2005
Emmylou reunited with producer Brian Ahern on new cut I am a ravenous music collector and I try to keep complete the discographies of the all the artists I love. Retreading Emmylou's history here would be superflous. We all know how golden her entire discography is. We could all argue which songs should be here and ...

Elite Hotel Emmylou Harris
Rhino / Wea, 2004
Her best recording bar none I've been a fan for 30 years and this was it as far as I'm concerned. Start to finish this plays like a great roadhouse jukebox pumped full of quarters in the mid-70's. She was never so twangy or more tender. The Hot Band was never hotter. Combine this with Bob Dylan's ...

Angel Band Emmylou Harris
Warner Bros / Wea, 1990
A masterpiece from a legend Truth be told, I bought this CD many years ago and foolishly gave it away. I just recently bought another from Amazon. The only reason I can give for giving it away in the first place is temporary insanity. EmmyLou Harris is one of my absolute favorite artists and then ...

Where It All Started December 7, 1974 my friend Early and I went to see Leo Kottke at Minnesota Orchestra Hall. The opening act that night was an unknown girl singer named Emmylou Harris. We had no idea what to expect and little interest - we'd come to see Kottke. As soon as we saw ...
