Creative Composers with a New Vein of Music
There is a real joy in discovering the work of contemporary composers who lighten the music world with abundant creativity. Such is the case for Edgar Meyer, B?la Fleck and Mike Marshall. These three not only compose but also perform their own compositions on this ...
The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales From The Acoustic Planet, Vol. 2
Béla Fleck
Warner Bros / Wea, 1999
Hair Raising
I've had this album for two years now and it still sometimes makes my hair stand on end when I listen to it and I don't even consider myself a SERIOUS bluegrass fan. Absolutely amazing!
Tales From the Acoustic Planet

Forget the labels.
Forget the labels of bluegrass, newgrass, fusion, jazz. This is just amazing stuff. Relax and enjoy.
Jingle All the Way
Bela Fleck & Flecktones
Rounder / Umgd, 2008
Great fun!
This is the liveliest holiday music I've heard. Great arrangements with interesting new sounds! The musicians really let loose with their creativity and had a great time doing it.

Pure Magic!
Who would have thought that piano and banjo could co-exist, let alone enchant and surprise? When you pair up two masters of each instrument (and master composers/arrangers as well) you get magic. I was truly enchanted by the melody and whimsy of this collaboration. ...

The Northern Exposure Halloween Song!
Northern Exposure, Season 3, Episode 5, "Jules et Joel". Throughout this episode a great song plays that I couldn't get out of my head. I did a search and found the name of the song, Flight of the Cosmic Hippo, on moosechick's site. I got the CD for that one song ...
Three Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
Béla Fleck & The Flecktones
Warner Bros / Wea, 1993
The essence of fusion
The word 'fusion' is used to mean various things.. most often jazz-rock, occasionally world-beat or Indian/jazz or any number of other things. Only rarely does a band require something more inclusive like 'every-damn-thing-at-once-fusion'.. and if there's any group ...

Exquisitely good music!
Didn't expect an outstanding cd, don't know exactly why i got it,maybe because of yo yo and bela, but every piece is played beautifully, even the vocal piece by James Taylor. The album is almost too good to be called Heartland, every piece is a class act. Bravo!
Live Art
Béla Fleck & the Flecktones

You have got to hear this album!
This has to be the most incredible album I've heard in years. My introduction to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones was on a trip to the States from the UK in 1993 on business. I flicked on the TV in my hotel room and there was a music festival on. I watched the incredible ...

A Must Have
These two really sound good together. If you're not so impressed with the music when you first hear it (I don't know if that's possible), check out the DVD that comes with it. You will gain such an appreciation for the music that's being played. Watch out for the guy ...
Flight of the Cosmic Hippo
Béla Fleck & the Flecktones

I scratched my first cd and quickly went out to buy another
This is one of the best CDs the Flecktones have put out. This has to be one of the most interesting mixes of musicians I have heard to date. Not only do they work well together, the music played on here stretches the boundaries of modern music with so many injections ...

Bela Fleck & the Flecktones
My introduction to the Flecktones. A perfect introduction; well, almost. Somehow, over the years, jazz has managed to fuse with every kind of music imaginable. First, jazz was born incorporating with blues and ragtime. Over the years, popular music was tied in with ...

Such an incredible album
I REALLY recommend buying this album. It's so uplifting and the musicianship is just astounding. I don't even like bluegrass, and I think it's amazing! I'm a new convert to Béla Fleck.

Spectacular!
This album displays an unclassifiable, amazing, virtuosic band playing at their best(Well, maybe not, they're better live)! Bela Fleck takes the banjo to places it has never been before. He moves the instrument beyond bluegrass into such realms as jazz, rock, and ...
