2008 release. On her first full-length holiday album, Loreena celebrates the season with a CD that blends the five songs from A Winter Garden (1995) with eight new recordings inspired by seasonal favorites. 13 tracks including 'The Holly & The Ivy', 'Good King Wenceslas', 'Seeds Of Love', 'Coventry Carol' and more.

A Midwinter Winner

Of the 13 pieces on this CD, 5 appeared on the earlier, very brief CD "A Winter Garden." Didn't matter. I wanted it anyhow. If you're a Loreena McKennett fan, you will love this CD, and you won't care any more than I do that 5 of the 13 appeared before. It has the middle east, "caravan" sound common to much of her music, and that certainly brings new life to old pieces. I think it's great.

Beautiful! A Must Have!

I didn't know about Loreena McKennitt before I got this CD. I bought it on a whim as I heard she's similar to Enya, and I love Enya. And after listening to Amazon's preview songs, I liked what I heard, so I decided to take a chance on her. I'm so glad I did, because I absolutely love this CD. McKennitt's music grows on you quickly, reaching deep. It's truly exquisite and so unique. Her voice is like an angel's. I can't get enough of her music. I'm going to buy all of her CDs.

If you like Enya, you're sure to like her.

Beautiful Christms CD

I've always loved Loreena McKennitt's music, and I definitely wasn't disappointed this time. I think my favorite song on this one is the Seven Rejoices of Mary. If you want a good CD for Christmas, this is it. I also recommend To Drive the Cold Winter Away, also by Loreena.

The peace of Christmas.

I love this CD. It will say in rotation all year round. It's beautiful, it's peaceful, it is what Christmas is suppose to sound like. None of the junk you hear blaring at the local market!!! It has a Enya kind of stirring to it, with a lean toward more folk-traditional...
