Grab and Go

Although the Eee PC is a little difficult to get used to, I love the fact that I can take it with me anywhere. I purchased the computer to store photos. I transferred my pictures the other day and it went very quickly. I'm getting used to the keyboard, but prefer to use a USB mouse. Overall a great buy for the price!

Fantastic Product!

If you need a light, ultra portable laptop for basic computing such as internet, word processing, or to use simple programs, then this laptop will work for you. I had windows xp installed for the programs I need and it can be slow at times when using the internet and at the start up, but other than that, it is pretty fast all other times. I mainly use my eee pc for word processing, and have a flash card program on it, and that is about it. I haven't been able to connect to a wifi network yet and I usually just have it plugged in wherever I use it. (at home, school library) The battery last about 2 and a half hours with wifi turned off and the brightness down all the way. If all this sounds good to you, then I highly recommend this little machine.

Great little machine!

I upgraded from a 701 (which I loved and bought last year) to a 900. To me the small increase in price was worth it! The bigger screen and the bigger touch pad are awesome, not to mention the extra disk space (got the 16Gig linux version). I have been using it at work and at home and I have had not one issue with it (it works even better than my 701 version).

I am truly impressed with this device and would HIGHLY recommend it as a traveling companion to any notebook/desktop that you have.

Great little machine

Firstly my order arrived only 15 hours after ordering - amazing service Amazon!This little marvel does everything it says on the box and I was up and running in minutes after unpacking it. I travel extensively around the world - its small size and weight ( including the charger) makes it easy to transport and convenient to use on a flight, even with the seat in front fully reclined. It picks up wireless networks quickly and easily and can be hard wired into a local network. It was easy to upgrade the RAM to 2GB inexpensively and with a 16 GB Memory Stick I have all the performance and storage I need. There is an excellent package of preloaded software that should meet most users requirements and the battery life has not been a problem for me. The only problem I have had has been the inability to pick up my home wireless network which is apparently an issue with the version of Xandros Linux installed and can be resolved by installing Ubuntu Netbook Linux which is a free download.

If you're not a linux expert, buy the XP version.

I commute by bike and train, and have found this notebook quite useful. The small keys take some getting used to, but that's why humans are adaptable.

Then the wireless stopped working on my home network. After three hours of turning things on and off, searching web forums, and messing with my home router, I'm ready to buy a USB cdrom drive and a copy of windows XP.

The wireless DHCP issue is all over the net, with 3000 different solutions, and in some cases, no solution. Save yourself the headache and go right to XP, unless you're a Linux expert.
