Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, John Hiatt, Lucinda Williams, Little Richard, Randy Travis, Big & Rich, Delbert McClinton, Patty Loveless, Levon Helm, Raul Malo, Bekka Bramlett and Vince Gill lend their voices in support on Th e Im u s Ra n c h Re c o r d , which includes covers of such varied classics as Mamas Don t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys, What A Difference A Day Makes, and You ve Got To Fight For Your Right To Party. The songs were hand-picked by Imus and matched to each artist except for Vince Gill singing A Satisfied Mind, which was a special tribute to the late Porter Wagoner, recorded just hours after Gill sang the song at Wagoner s funeral. Proceeds from this special CD benefit the Imus Ranch, a unique working cattle ranch in New Mexico run by Don and Deirdre Imus, which hosts children who are afflicted with cancer or other serious blood diseases.

The CD is great!

The CD sounds super and all the artists do a great job on their assigned songs. Also feels good to know the proceeds go to the Imus Ranch. Can't lose with this one.

It Lived Up To The I-Man's Hype

Being an avid listener to Don Imus for many years......I knew he only recommended the best. This record is terrific. The selection of artists and their songs were superb......Can't wait for Number 2. Plus it is for a worthy cause.

A Work of Genius and for a Good Cause, Too!

I can't recall the last time a compilation album on any media was this well done! The marriage of performer to musical number is superb. The arrangements and supporting studio musicians are a gift to the ears. There's not a bad track on this CD. But what elevates this disc beyond all of this is the sharp, clear, crystalline engineering and recording quality! Its dumbfoundingly brilliant! You can hear the whorls on the players fingerprints sliding across guitar strings, I swear to God! Nothing is mushy, or veiled or flat on any of these tracks! Listen to the bluegrass banjoes backing up Big and Rich: exquisite! Each and every track is exquisite! And on a personal note: Delbert McClinton's cover on Eric Clapton's Lay Down Sally blows Clapton out of the water! (Yes, Iman, he DOES know how to make a record).

Not a country music fan

I am not a country music fan but this is a terrific record. Little Richard and Willie Nelson alone are worth the price. The profits go to a good cause!

Glad I got it

I'm glad I got this CD...may get a couple more for Christmas gifts.
A great mix of artists and syles...mostly country..my style.
And...it helps the Imus Ranch....a win/win to me.
