good price for better than average earphones

My apple earbuds went out within 4 months of owning the iPhone. Perhaps this is to be expected, but I think earphones should last longer than that. When I first set out to get a new set, I decided that I would get high quality ones. Shure makes some of the best earphones, however this model is probably a farcry from the pricey ones. That being said, these are really great. I had a problem spending $100+ on a set of earphones when they all seem to break at one point, thus making $50 an acceptable medium.

Pros:
- they fit in my ear snug to block out outside noises
- the sound quality is much better than stock earbuds
- the microphone works pretty well
- if the wiring somehow becomes dislodged from the earbud (like most ones do), i'll just return it due to the warranty

Cons:
- there is no call/receive click button
- not that i use these for working out, but since the earbuds fit snug in your ear canal, you will hear lots of noise from the wire rubbing on you (much like a doctor's stethoscope). However I only use these at work which is awesome since it blocks out the sound of people around me.

Really good, but...

I was a little surprised by the lack of depth (bass) with these headphones. However, the sound quality is great, especially for the price. The cord is a little thick, but I find that ok since I'm pretty rough on my headsets anyway.

I'll definitely use these but my search will continue for a pair of iPhone headphones with heavier bass.

Flaws in design

The quality of the sound is mediocre. The major drawback is that the earbuds are huge and heavy. They keep falling off my ears - I can hardly listen to music/make phone calls with them while I am walking. I had to return them.

Great phones, don't work for all devices

This is a great price for Shure earphones, and the microphone works as advertised.
Good sound quality and good noise isolation.
I'm not an audiophile so I can only compare it to headphones below 100 dollars and it compares favorably to headphones in that range and certainly against cheapo crap that's included with devices.

My main issue with it is that it only seems compatible with the iPhone.
I tried using it with my iPod and for some odd reason, the iPod keeps pausing as if the earphones had been unplugged (it was not).
Also when I tried using it with another mp3 player from Cowon, it did not give me a proper volume unless I pulled it out half way.

Given that it is designed as a headset, I won't give it 3 stars, but I bought it expecting to get headphones that just happen to have a microphone.
It isn't- get it only if you want to use it with the iPhone or another phone.
