This first ever DVD from the band features three full shows professionally filmed and recorded. 5 for the DVD, much less for the plastic packaging

First, in no way do I have any problem with the dvd and footage itself. This first live DVD from the almighty Dark Funeral captures them going what they do best; slaying the audience with an unholy blast of extreme satanic black metal. The 3 pro-shot shows are very excellent, and they capture all the sound and fury of what it must be like to be there. The one thing that impressed me the most is Magus Caligula's very confident stage presence. At one point he says to the crowd "I've been screaming for 18 years, and that's what i'm here to do for you". That says it all for me. They all seem very comfortable on stage.
As for the extra fan-shot live footage, a lot of it is actually quite good. Some of it is very much bootleg quality, but still very enjoyable. The DVD artwork is also quite good, and I think that for a first DVD, they have suceeded in capturing the essence of Dark Funeral.
As for the plastic packaging itself, I am very displeased. The first copy i bought was badly dented and the paper inserts were all bent and punctured. Now this might seem like a side effect of improper employee handling of the product, but it has more to do with cheapness of the plastic packaging used. The see-through plastic cover is VERY thin, and doesn't do much to protect the paper cover from denting in the SLIGHTEST.
My wife drove to another music store to return the DVD and get another, and this one was in slightly better shape, but the tabs that hold the booklet in the case snapped when i pulled them back gently to place the booklet back.
Now these might seem like minor complaints to some but, being a collector, I expect new product to look NEW. Overall, awesome live DVD and artwork, but terrible plastic packaging. Good luck trying to find a copy in good shape.

One of the best live DVD's ever!

Dark Funeral is one of the best metal bands ever, and this DVD is of fantastic quality. The sound is totally clear and the camera work is really tight. The material covers all their albums and we even see a glimpse of early Dark Funeral at work. Having seen them live recently, I can say that this is as close a representation of being at a live show as you can get.

This is a fun watch. Surprisingly good quality video, lots of blast-from-the-past live footage, and amazingly tight performances. If not for the lack of between-song banter and up-close-and-personal interviews, I would rate this a 5.
