The leather is soft and there was no awkward "breaking-in" time. They molded instantly to my feet and keep them happy on even the longest days. They are cute (I have received many compliments) and are wonderful for walking. I am new to Keen's shoes, but I am a believer now--I have always scoffed at the price tag, but they are well worth the investment. I just ordered a second pair! Great shoes!
