Having used this for a week, already my
brain
feels bigger, and when I flex it in front of the ladies, well, let's just say size does matter . . .
OK, so that wasn't true. But this is: I find the puzzles challenging, engaging, and interesting. I like the fact you can track progress, and the fact there are multiple levels, so you can move up if you need more of a challenge. Between the accuracy and time scores, the game keeps challenging you.
While this isn't the best game I have ever played, it's certainly entertaining. My kids like it, too.
If it happens to stretch my brain a bit, well then, that's just a bonus.

Mind Quiz Review
Over all, this is a very good product. It made me realize what areas of my abilities need to be strengthened. I use it 3-5 days a week, and feel that it is helping to stimulate my thought processes. I wouldn't call it fun, but it's pleasant enough. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay sharp, especially those of us who are no longer in the workforce.
Simplified graphics, not enough fun to make you replay
This games loads easily using Windows Vista & doesn't even need the CD once the only 40 Meg are loaded. (Graphics are the type to be found almost 10 years ago.) I did put this on two different Vista computers, both Intel & both could not load sound due to needing Direct X 7 & even after loading the newest version it still did not. Everything else works fine.
The graphics are very simple, but clean & easy interface.
The menu options are:
Choose player, Practice (choose a specific game), Daily
brain
test, Progress (chart). Getting started (usual window style help guide). There's also a sound on/off, back, help & quit game.
Games:
3 types in every category, detailed instructions on each game, 5 levels in each game, all games are timed (adds excitement)
Verbal -
Anagrams, Spelling test, word search
Numerical -
Math arithmetic, number crunch (choose correct symbol to make equation correct), number sequence
Spatial -
4 colors (make pattern w/o same colors touching), color matching (slightly advanced color/shape pair finding), fold the cube (match the flat colored cube w/correct multi choice)
Memory -
Follow the leader (9 color Simon), matching pairs (using b&w simple shapes), memory grid (place symbol cards in correct sequence on grid)
Logic -
Color tiles (match many colored titles so same colors touch on grid), Connexagon (spin hexagon wheels so you transfer colors), Sudoko
This game does NOT have the looks, game play, graphics, or sense of fun the trailer for the Nintendo DS shows.

The easy menu system is nice, the timed format adds a little stimulation to what could be very boring games. Brain Spa & Brain Challenge are MUCH more fun w/cheery graphics & harder games that have better programing to suit each person's level in each game. Also, Big Brain Academy on Wii & DS is also much more fun & am sure many Brain Age & Focus games on the Nintendo DS are as well. This is made by Ubisoft which has made many games for Nintendo & a good company.

Makes you think and has good replay value
Making you think and having good replay value are what this type of game is all about, and
Mind
Quiz
wins on both. These are the types of games that you have to put some real thought into if you want to get better at them. I gave 4 stars out of 5 because there are a couple of games included that are not original and are presented much better elsewhere. For example sudoku is included, but there are much better sudoku games available.
