Good ear buds with a catch
In short: these ear buds are very good.
They have excellent sound quality and a wonderful carrying case (which also happens to be large enough for my mp3 player to
fit
in as well- doubly useful).
The catch is the "
twist
to fit" design. The company includes several sizing pieces for the ear buds and it can take quite a bit of guesswork to figure out which are comfortable for you- once you find it, you can wear them for long periods of time without much fatigue. If you don't choose the right pieces for you, the ear buds are abysmally uncomfortable.
Four out of five stars for a very good set of ear buds with a catch which will leave many people unhappy.

Deserves a 4 1/2
Great price for the sound quality. The bass is deep and clear enough to hear all of Flea's intricate lines and all other sounds come at you well balanced and very clear. The design is a bit awkward at first, but once you're used to it, you realize that it allows a snug
fit
and therefore great sound. The only reason this product doesn't get 5 stars is because one of the main rubber parts came off and got lost easily, which is OK because you have replacements that can substitute. And speaking of parts, customization is good because you really want these buds to fit well to make the most of the quality sound they can provide. The volume control comes in handy too.

Good but not great
These earphones sound clear without the overdone bass and background noise. However, the locking system is awkward and a bit uncomfortable when you first put it in and when taking it out.
You will hear a good sound, but you won't feel it
It has a long enough durable cord, and its design makes it
fit
really good in your ear. The sound quality is high as is expected from
Sennheiser
, but it's a little bit low in power. The volume variation is also not too much.
Sennheiser needs to stay out the low end market
After half a dozen pairs of 'cheap'
earbuds
, I knew
Sennheiser
wouldn't let me down. After all the $600 wireless headphones put me in the front row of the orchestra. Wrong. The difference was barely discernible between these and the ones that came with the iPod, the ones that came with the Shuffle, the ones that some with the Creative Labs Stone and the Chinese cheapy. What a let down. I expected so much better. Their "Basswind System" must be merely marketing hype. When I saw the disclaimer on the package about the positioning having an effect the perception of the bass, a red flag went up. As with every other set, true bass is merely a dream. Would I spent $20 again for them...no. I do like the the fact that it has volume adjustment even if it is a little 'tight'. After the wires split to the ears, they vary in length. One side is 8" and other is 20" - what's up with that? This proves to be cumbersome whether you run the wires behind or in front.
They are very comfortable and have popped out mainly due to the wire catching something - aren't they always. Think Bluetooth earbuds!
