Most Excellent
I am a relatively new coffee drinker, and this is my very first
espresso
machine
. So far, I have not had a single problem with it, and could not be happier with the espresso it makes. The steam wand is a little low, as other reviewers have mentioned, but aside from that it creates a generous amount of foam, and is fairly easy to clean. The tank on the back holds enough water to keep you going for a few days, and can be filled from a pitcher or removed for filling at the sink.
Overall, I would recommend this machine to anyone who desires coffee-shop quality espresso for a decent price. As for acessories, I would also recommend a small brewing pitcher and frothing pitcher. A 53mm tamper is nice too, but is not required, as the coffee gets packed into the portafilter when you lock it in place.
So far, I have found from experience that a grind between medium and fine works best for this machine. Experiment a bit and find the grind that suits your tastes, and leaves a compacted "puck" in the portafilter after brewing.

top notch machine
Absolute fantastic product. Had this for about a year now and it still works perfect. Heats up very quickly and brews an excellent shot with excellent crema. The steam wand also works very well. Tip: do not open wand completely as you will end up with enormous amounts of foam before it's hot enough. The pressure it puts out is intense. Between my family and I it makes about 8-10 shots daily and lots of steaming and it has handled it amazingly. Can't say enough good things about this product. Also, very solid construction.
a great cup o' joe
I saw this first on an episode of Alton Brown's show (brand blinded, but I'm pretty sure this was the
machine
). I had used a Gaggia in the past which worked pretty well, but this one had met if not exceeded my hopes. I make
espresso
/cappuccino almost daily and in the three months I've had this unit it has performed beautifully. It's fairly quiet, heats up quickly, and consistently makes good espresso. It is critical to have a good grinder for the consistency of the coffee you're using, so understand there is more to good espresso than the machine. Overall, great machine at a good price. No complaints.

great machine for the price
This is my 3rd
espresso
machine
and I like it the best. It is well built, easy to use and make great espresso. I love it!
Nice Espresso make - Service Issues though
The
Aroma
line appears to be a solid, basic, decently designed
espresso
maker that, as a newbie shot puller, I have found to make it very easy to pull a decent shot right out of the gate. Everything I wanted was there; solid pump pressure to allow finer grinds, generous water reservoir, basic but solid construction (for the most part), a pressurized portafilter that lets the steam pressure build to a good level before allowing the shot to start pouring, a heated top for keeping those shot glasses warm, and an easy to use steaming wand. Just enough controls to give you the basics (power, pump, steam boost) but no bling to speak of (if you're into that look elsewhere).
Some construction in surprising areas is flimsy, like the portafilter. The handle is hollow brittle plastic, compared to others that use a solid handle where the steel of the filter body goes through the handle.
Customer support is where I had my issue. Very knowledgeable and quickly offered to send me another portafilter handle when mine broke, but it took three months, 3 emails, and 3 phone calls to get the replacement. I hope I'm just the exception.
