The railroad's got to run through the town of Rock Ridge. How do you drive out the townfolk in order to steal their land? Once Mel Brooks' lunatic film many call his best gets started logic is lost in a blizzard of gags jokes quips puns howlers growlers and outrageous assaults upon good taste or any taste at all. Cleavon Little as the new lawman Gene Wilder as the wacko Waco Kid Brooks himself as a dim-witted politico and Madeline Kahn in her Marlene Dietrich send-up that earned an Academy Award nomination all give this sagebrush saga their lunatic best. "Never Give a Saga an Even Break"

Mel Brooks and company offer an endless supply of sight gags, one-liners and social commentary in this classic sagebrush satire. The priceless rapport between Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder guarantees repeat viewings. Harvey Korman lost his "almost-certain Academy Award nomination" as the villainous Hedley Lamarr, but Madeline Kahn received Oscar acknowledgment for her Marlene Dietrich parody. In terms of sheer laugh content, "Blazing Saddles" survives as Brooks' finest hour -- political correctness be damned.

Best comedy of all time

If you have only seen Blazing Saddles on network TV where all the vulgarities have been dubbed over, you haven't really seen Blazing Saddles. The sanitized version leaves you wondering why people think the movie is funny. The uncensored version leave you laughing, and laughing, and laughing. Heck, I saw it when it first came out and I have watched my VHS copy over the years and I still enjoy it. I bought this DVD version to have a more permanent copy. I don't mind that it lacks a lot of extra content. All I wanted was a good copy of the original movie, and that's what I got.

A Mel Brooks Classic

Don't buy this movie if you are easily offended; every race and ethnic group is made light hearted fun of. If you are a Mel Brooks fan this is a must have.

Funny

One of the funniest movies ever. The racial slur is nothing that you haven't heard in every rap song ever written.

Great Movie!

I think this movie is one of the best Mel Brooks movies ever made. It's a great comedy that is not politically correct and I love that. He's not afraid to push the envelope with his movies. They have moments that just make you blush. I also recommend his movie History of the World Part I. Great great movie!
