Tough steel makes crunchy, fluffy popcorn!

Delicious popcorn comes from this pot. Throw away that chemical microwave poison and use this!

mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm

The Whirley-Pop popcorn maker made the best homemade popcorn I have ever had. I used the popcorn oil / popcorn kit that came with it and I also bought the popcorn buttery topping (like they have at the theater). The popcorn left very few kernels and was very light and fluffy. If you are a popcorn lover like I am, I highly recommend this product.

you'll never eat microwave popcorn again!

My old popper like this broke and I got the Whirley-Pop to replace it. Once you make popcorn like this you'll never eat the microwaved junk again! It only takes a few minutes more to make popcorn on the stove--half a cup of kernels and some oil, and in five minutes you've got a big, yummy bowl of hot popcorn.
I wasn't crazy about their packaged mix. Too salty and too dry. But the popper itself is excellent and also comes with a decent warranty on the parts that tend to break on these--the gears and the handle.

The gears *will* break, but here's what you do:

Give the Wabash people a call. They will ask you when you bought the popper and they will register your product. Then they will send you a brand new lid no questions asked. They will continue to do this for the next 25 years. I wish the entire gear system was made of metal, but with impeccable customer service like Wabash provides, I can overlook that.

As for the popper itself, the other reviews pretty much cover it. More fun and healthier than microwave popcorn and easier to store than a hot air job. I use 1/8 cup olive oil to 1/2 cup popcorn and don't even bother turning the gear until I hear the first kernel explode. I'm hoping this will save wear and tear for next time. I melt a tablespoon or two of butter over the top just 'cause I like the taste and add a little salt right in the kettle (be sure to use a potholder...it's hot!). Once the popcorn is gone, I fit the lid back on and stick it back under the cabinet. I don't even bother to wipe it out. Keeps it nice and seasoned!

Works great, pan is a little "thin", glad it has a warranty!

This pan works great for popping various kinds of popcorn. I really enjoy making kettle corn in it... although the sugar is a little difficult to clean.... a good soak in some hot soapy water helps make that a lot easier.
