Actually a 4.5
I will not be purchasing any more of the Brazilian coffee - not because it is bad or the quality is inferior but because it is not right for my own preferences. Yet several friends thought it some of the best coffee they ever tasted.
For one, I prefer whole bean that is ground at the time of the brewing. I have heard the argument that whole bean is not as good a deal as whole beans for the obvious reasons that a bag of ground contains more weight than one of beans (the space between the beans is wasted). Still, there is nothing like the freshness of the just ground.
Secondly (as to why I will not order this coffee again) the Brazilian approaches a French Roast which, in my opinion, is like a well-done steak: One loses the true flavor of the coffee with the excessive roasting. The Peabury, Popoyan and the new limited edition from Mexico are much superior flavors.
