Great Product

My husband and I bought this dresser over a year ago and it has been great, especially for the money. I waited to do my review because I wanted to see if it would hold up. First of all, I too bought it at Walmart for cheaper. I also put it together by myself, although it would have been easier if I had waited for my husband (I was pregnant and nesting), I was still able to get it together alone in a couple of hours. Although it's not as high quality as something that would be pre-assembled at a furniture store, it has worked great for my 3-year-old and still works just as well as the day we moved it into his room. There are no nicks in the wood and even with my little guy opening and closing the drawers in his careless 3-year-old way, it has held up. We think it has been a great dresser.

Everything I Expected

I now have the whole set of this product and have not had any trouble with any of the pieces. It was packaged great and had no damage upon arrival. I would recommend it to my friends!

Solid High Quality Chest For $200 +/-

I've read others reviews and I must admit the drawer design does leave something to desire but...this is a chest for a "BABY". That is why you'll loose some storage space if you store adult clothing. The drawers are designed the way they are because baby clothes are small. DUH!!! As for the look and quality of the chest, it is top notch for the price. Go to any furniture store in your town try to buy something similar to this chest and it will set you back $499 or more.

Beautiful but unreliable drawers.

I've had this dresser for 2 years. It might just be me, but I've had so much trouble with the drawers. The wheels have fallen off, they get off track, and they seem somewhat shallow (especially when you have lots of bulky clothes for winter). The outside has held up really well. It did take a lot of time to put together I remember, so take the advice from the other reviewers.

Not bad but...

Looks fantastic but it's not exactly the most rugged piece of furniture.

Top and sides are solid wood. Back is particle board. The bottom is just support slats, not solid wood. Other things to note: The inside of the drawers are white, just FYI, that might matter to some people. Also, although the drawers look tall, they sides and back are only 3" high. This causes small items like baby socks to fall behind the drawers. There is ample room on 3 of the drawers to have a 6" depth. If this bothers you as much as it did me, you can easily add some 1/8" particle board on 3 sides.

Would have liked this to be a bit more sturdy. This will get us through the infant years but I doubt it will stand up to toddler and beyond abuse. Oh and although the directions don't call for it, I highly recommend using wood glue in the pegs to reinforce the construction.
