From the supplier: The
deregulation
of the
electricity
industry
has inspired power marketers to promise cheap and re
new
able
energy
to their consumers. Although studies show that as much as 40% could be saved on the average electric bill because of competition, the actual beneficiaries would be industrial and large-volume buyers, while residential consumers could only expect little savings. Moreover, critics have raised doubts about the capability of utilities to keep their promises without regulation since most the energy in the US still comes from non-renewable sources.
