They can also use tracking polls at the end of a campaign to measure the impact of recent events on their standings. People interested in setting up a political action committee (PAC) should determine the purpose of their PAC, file a statement of organization with the appropriate election authority, appoint a treasurer to accept contributions or make disbursements and obtain a taxpayer account number from the IRS.
