A charming story and identifiable characters, who also happen to be numbers, take the young reader along for a whiz-bang fun-filled ride. In this lively number-identification book, 20 canine drivers wait at the starting line, all eager to win the auto race. One by one, the cars spin out, come apart, or fall behind, until one finally crosses the finish line. Rhyming verse and brilliantly colored cartoon images track the action while the spectator-readers get the chance to learn their numbers.

Great for racing fans, parents and kids alike

I took my 3 year old to a raceway where he enjoyed watching his first car race. Soon afterwards he picked out this book, and asks me to read it to him every night. It's just like being at the race track (except since it's a kid's book, it downplays the accidents and crashes). A great book for kids, and has colorful cartoon pictures of multi-colored racecars. Also helpful in teaching how to count.
