A New York Times Bestselling Author

When Ike Grantham paid her for her graphic design work with a run-down nineteenth-century carriage house on Boston's North Shore, and then disappeared, Tess found herself with much more than a weekend project. It's not just the rumors that the house is haunted. It's the neighbors: six-year-old Dolly, her reclusive babysitter, and her father, Andrew Thorne, who has his own ideas about why Tess has turned up next door.

Available only in Americana 4 & 5.

Haunted House or a Murderer..

This is my First Negger read and I will read more of hers .

The Carriage House is supposed to be haunted , and Tess (who reminds me of Queen Latifa in this story ) finds a skelton in her basement but at first she is not convienced what she saw so she don't call the police right off , In the next day or so a friend conviences Tess she should call the police but by then someone has removed the skelton from the basement , You have a politicians wife trying to protect the wrong man , and that man is in love with Tess and then you have the politician that will do anything to get his spot in Washington .

The carriage House is given to Tess for a job she did for Ike and Ike has disappeared . Tess finds skelton in basement but is it Ike or is it ?
Tess also falls for her next door neighbor that... Sorry you got to read this story to find out the rest :)

I enjoyed it...

This is the first in a series of four & I really enjoyed it. I loved most of the people & they had me laughing many times. I can't wait to see more of them in the rest of the series.

My only complaint is that there weren't really any surprises. You were basically told from the start who the dead body was & who the killer was. I kept thinking we'd be thrown for a loop at the end & what we'd been assuming the whole books wasn't really what we though after all but that never happened. Although I like guessing who the killer is from little hints here & there I don't want it to be flat out told to me. Where's the suspense?

I would recommend this book.
