?Messin? with me?s like wearin? cheese underwear down rat alley.?
-
Ollie
Chandler
Homicide detective Ollie Chandler has seen it all. Done more than he cares to admit. But when he?s called to investigate the murder of a Portland State University professor, he finds himself going places he?s never gone before.
Places he never wanted to go.
Because all the evidence is pointing to one horrific conclusion: The murderer is someone in his own department. That?s not the worst of it, though. Ollie has nagging doubts?about himself. Where was he during the time of the murder?
Joined by journalist Clarence Abernathy and their friend Jake Woods, Ollie pushes the investigation forward. Soon all three are drawn deep into corruption and political tensions that threaten to destroy them?and anyone who tries to help. But they?re in too deep to quit. They?ve got no choice. They have to follow the evidence to the truth?
No matter how ugly?or dangerous?it gets.
A gripping story of murder and spiritual struggle,
Deception
proves, as never before, the truth of Ollie?s first law: ?Things are often not what they appear.?

Couldn't put it down
I loved this book. The only bad thing I can say is I didn't get enough sleep until I finished it because I stayed up way past my normal bed time to read. Hope there's a sequel soon. Randy Alcorn is one of my favorite authors.
Good
The first package was lost so they shipped a new one with upgraded shipping. The product arrived on time in excellent condition.
I loved this almost as much as the first in the trilogy,Deadline!
Another great experience in this Christian mystery trilogy, beginning with Deadline. Sorry to say I could not get interested in the second book,Dominion, enough to continue reading it.
However
Deception
,was as exciting, and interesting as the first book.
Lots of fascinating twists and turns here, and some challenging, and in my view, successful handling of some of the big questions we all have about God,and why are some terrible things allowed to happen.
This is another hard-to-put-down,page-turner,so I would suggest that readers who are considering starting this have plenty of time to finish it,or you will be jittery, anxious, and unable to concentrate, until you can get back to it!

Deception is best of Trilogy
If you enjoyed the first two in the
Ollie
Chandler
trilogy, you're going to love this book. I would only warn you to have some reading time available when you pick this book up - you're not going to want to stop reading.
Randy Alcorn's Deception
This is a great book in the
series
. It's exciting and enjoyable. I stayed up till 1:00 finishing it up, and I am not a teenager!
