From the shipyard of her birth to her decades-long career as the world's most magnificent ocean liner, here is the grand
history
of the
QE2
. An expert maritime historian chronicles the innovative ship's fascinating story and documents her charismatic appeal with more than 150 black-and-white and 27 color images.
A Majestic Book for a Majestic Ship History
While this volume is short on written
history
there is enough excerpts and
picture
descriptions to make it a worthwhile companion to your collection of the great Trans-atlantic Queens previously known as the best way to travel to Europe until their hijacking by the 747.
The pictures and illustrations are wonderful and give you a great sense on how it was to travel with both sensibility and a feeling of Grande importance.

Rather disappointed
I was rather disappointed in this book. There were very few
picture
s of the current interiors and the photos that were there were samll and black and white. Many of the color images were reproductions of paintings, not actual photographs.
Anyone expecting a coffee table book or a memory of a recent crossing will be disappointed.
