Tony Mitton and Selina Young have stitched together a charming seafaring adventure for young children in this bedtime treasure.

excellent childrens book, my grandson had it read over and over.
very good.
Where did all those kids come from?
I agree with the reviewers who say this book is appealing and whimsical and that it serves as a great summer read. The illustrations are appropriate and convey warmth and the verse is sweet. But when you turn to the last page and it shows that two children (a boy and a girl) are on this deserted island by themselves and there are suddenly 6 (even littler) children with them, it does serve to confuse the adult reader. Where did these littler children come from? Are the older children their parents? Hardly. I'm sure we would get asked this question by SOME child if we use the book in story time.
