I honestly don't know why there are so many negative reviews of Roxio's new Easy Media Creator 7.5 posted here. This is easily the most complete consumer-level CD and DVD burning solution available today. Sorry Nero users, but Roxio's got you beat this time ;-)...

Installing all of the applications takes about 10-15 minutes and requires a reboot. After that you'll see the Roxio shortcut on your Desktop (if you opt to have an icon placed there during installation). Easy Meddia Creator 7.5 is a Windows 2000/XP suite ONLY. DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU'RE RUNNING ANYTHING LESS. Go with Nero instead.

I have not tested all the apps but I have erased a few CD-RWs and burned some DVDs without a single hiccup. As an added bonus there's even the full version of Backup MyPC Deluxe 6 and Sonic's Cineplayer DVD playback application included. After using CinePlayer for awhile I uninstalled WinDVD 6 Platinum from system. Yes, it's that good (at least for me).

I recommend that anyone interested in buying this suite make certain their system meets the requirements (Pentium III 500 but I suggest something in the 1+GHz range) since some of the apps can be slow to launch. Otherwise Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 is a terrific CD and DVD media suite that's sure to get better with each future release.

Finally.....Roxio gets good.

Lots of features and ease of use of these programs.
I really get a kick out of the Divx-To-DVD Creator!! Helps
me to put two DVD movies in 1 4.7GB disk. You can't go wrong
with that!

Burning Data for either CD-R/RW or DVD+/-R/RW is not
difficult, not a burden like the other previous version and
I'm not going to get into EZCD Version 5.

I've notice that when burning CDs or DVDs, it doesn't take
up that much memory like Nero does. I've tested that Nero takes
over 100MB use of RAM and Creator 7.5 takes up about 50-55MB..Not bad!!

It's pretty simple to use the Drag-To-Disc Utility and haven't
had any issues with it.

I wouldn't go as far as to using 128MB or 256MB of RAM. If you have about 512MB or more...Even better!!

One thing why I switch to this product is I was dissatisfied
with Nero because one...It became boring and didn't like the fact that it kept giving me "Burn process failed" from trying to burn data on DVD...When I burned the data using this product, I didn't have no errors popping up.

With this multifunctional program, stick to this!! Doesn't get any better than this!

Easy to use Video Tools

I haven't had a single problem with this software. I'm not so much into the music mix side of things- I am into video production & editing- But I find this software pretty intuitive and it has a good bit of features for consumer video. It's also a lot of fun! Someone who had never edited video in her life was using this and after 1 day of playing already had a full 30 minute video with transitions, titles, & effects. Make sure your Graphics card & RAM are compatible first, though!
