Works great

Got these for a great price here on Amazon, and so far, so good - they work great. I appreciate that they use AA batteries and not the more expensive 9-volt cells. My old Orbits worked for 3 solid years out in the weather, we'll see how these do - my review is on these is at 6 months outside so far and they are inside for the winter. They still appear new - I'm pretty pleased with them.

Easy to use, but no way to know when the battery needs replacing.

With this hot weather, I wanted a way to water about 500 potted trees easily every day without having to do it myself. That is why I bought this device. It is easy to use. Turn the nob to how often you want to have it water (with several options)--my preference was once every 24 hours. Then you turn the nob to how long you want it to water? I put mine to 30 minutes. You then press the "Enter" red button and you hear a motor turning the sphere with a hole in it around in a circle so the sphere turns and then provides a hole to go through the sphere (o). When the time period is up, it then turns it back.

It does say in the instructions that when the battery gets low, it stops turning, but it would be preferable to have something light up telling me it is low or some other notification. I have it watering when I am not home, so I do not know when it would stop. The solution I have now is to open it up once a month to see the batter voltage level so I can tell how much longer it might have. If it gets close to 1.5 volts a battery (I forget how many it took), then I will put in another set of batteries.

Good timer.

It works the way it should. I don't like that you have to disrupt the settings to do a manual watering and the enter button needs a beep to be sure of setting.
