An excellent toy!

Nintendo 64 is one of the coolest toys I have ever gotten. I love it! It's so fun, and you can get controllers with different colors. Another thing I like about Nintendo 64 is the fact that there is very wide variety of games. Some of the best games are Mario Party 2, Top Gear Rally 2, All Star Baseball 2001, and Mario Kart 64. I also like it because it has different types of games, like action, racing, sports, puzzles, adventure and more! I absolutely like Nintendo 64. I would recommend to anyone who wants a cool video game console!

Quality not quantity

Let me just say that this is a great system, and totally worth every penny. The biggest complaints about this system are the lack of games, bad sound, and cartridges. Well. First of all, it is true that there are a lot less games on the N64 then on the playstation. BUT. Look at the games. There are like twelve football games for the playstation. Which one to pick? Are any of them good? Although Nintendo may only have two football games, you know that they will both be good. Nintendo has Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Pokemon. Although Nintendo has less games overall, their games are better, so you will end up having more fun, with games that are really great. It is true that many of the games do not live up to their sound potential. But before you trash the system capabilities, listen to the music of Zelda, or the Dolby Suround of Donkey Kong. Just because many games do not have good sound does not mean that the system can't do it. Many people complain about the cartrides. Just think about what happens to a CD if you leave it on the floor, and you will know why I like cartridges. One of the best things about the cartridges is that they do not take time to load. The one bad thing (for some people) is that Nintendo is not very good in the RPG area. They have Zelda and Paper Mario, and that is pretty much it for the awesome RPGs. That is the ONE area in which Playstation is better than N64.

One last thing to keep in mind...it is not fair to compare N64 to PS2, Xbox, or Dreamcast. Those are Next-Generation systems, comprable to Gamecube, not N64. They are not in the same generation, so of course it is not a good comparision. (Like comparing Gameboy Color to Gameboy Advance. It is just not fair.) Excellent

At the time I bought my Nintendo 64, it was for one reason and one reason only, "Goldeneye 007." The game was revolutionary when it came out, and took EVERYONE'S breath with the graphics and gameplay. Other N64 games have evolved into my favorites, such as: "Perfect Dark," "Madden 2001," and "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."

The N64 is a lot more graphically capable than the Playstation. The downfall for the Nintendo 64 however, which eventually let Playstation surpass it, was Nintendo's decision to go with the cartridge format, which scared game developers away due to the cart's limited memory capacity.

Overall, the N64 is home to some of the greatest video games ever made, and is worth your money.

Piece o' junk is its nickname! its better than sony's playstation1 but its still a piece of junk. it has a 64 bit graphics processer and a 193.75 MHz cpu. not near as good as dreamcast or ps2. dont waste your money on this Piece o' junk! get dreamcast or ps2. i have a dreamcast and ive played many games on ps2 and I still think dreamcast is much more impressive (dreamcast's graphics are the same as ps2{128bit}and abou the the same speed{dr:200mHz-ps2:294.197mHz})
