Can make espresso grind if "hacked"

I bought this burr mill over a year ago and had been disappointed that it did not produce acceptable espresso grind (it was far too course even at the fine setting), although it produced a nice, coarse grind for my French press. Due to its design, I don't feel like I am getting it completely clean when I remove the top burr and use a brush (as directed in the manual); I would think that residual oils from the beans accumulate on the gears. It is the first mill or grinder that I've owned and for the price is quite good, in my opinion (assuming no need for espresso grind). That was until this morning. I happened to read the review by E. H. Hanks "Radtek", in which he detailed a clever modification he made which allows for a much finer grind suitable for espresso. I just pulled a shot of espresso after making the modification and I'm even more satisfied with this Mr. Coffee product now.
Thanks, Radtek.

Great for the money

After reading the reviews here on Amazon, I bought a Capresso at WS but didn't have a chance to open it when I saw this one at Target for one-fifth (!) the price. My frugal side (you know, the little angel on the right shoulder) told me to try it out while that little extravagent devil said "hey, you already spent the money and bought the other one. go ahead, live a little." Well, I'm glad I bought this one and have to contribute to the positive reviews here.

I must say that I only use a drip maker (Cuisinart) so I can't comment on course grinds for press makers or fine grinds for espresso machines. So, limited to that and taking into account that this was my first burr grinder, I thought it did a good job.

Little did I know that my wife had already bought me a Cuisinart at Costco (for less money, as it turns out) for Chanukah. I must say that, as good as I thought this one was, the Cuisinart is that much better and you-know-who REALLY likes her morning coffee now.
