It is what it is

I purchased this grinder form BBB a few month ago. It does what it advertises in that it grinds the selected amount of beans at the selected fineness. The problem, as others have mentioned, is there is quite a bit of coffee dust as well as a rather inconsistent grind. That being said, it's a $50 burr grinder. For a grinder at this price it really does do a good job. If you are that concerned with the perfect grind,by all means spent a couple of hundred bucks on a conical bore grinder. If you're like me and just enjoy a solid daily coffee, this does the job.

Nice design and good price; Very loud

Grinder is a good value for the money. Multiple settings for grind size are convenient and easy to use. Design is stylish and looks great on my counter.

Grind size is usually consistent and even. That's what mattered most to me in buying this grinder.

Cons:
Grind quantity comes out typically 1.5 to 2 times the amount specified. Makes for a lot of wasted grinds.

Hopper is rather flimsy and top does not seal well. I wish there were some sort of rubber gasket or O-ring around hopper lid to keep beans fresher.

Machine is extremely loud. So loud, in fact, that one almost does not need any caffeine in the morning, rather the loud racket will rattle your nerves awake.

first one broke, second one's still kicking

The first time I plugged in and turned on this mill, it worked for 5 second before I turned it off. I was testing it. And that was the last I got out of it. It never turned back on.

The returns process through the manufacturer was very simple, though UPS has yet to come pick up the old machine.

The machine that actually works is not too bad. It grinds alright, but produces quite a bit of coffee bean dust, which finds its way easily into the bottom of our coffee pot. I am sure a paper filter would solve this problem, but we use a metal re-usable filter, so we'll have to deal with it.

It is LOUD. I don't use it after 8pm because I feel bad for the upstairs neighbor. I mean, it's not THAT loud, but it's loud at night when people are tying to sleep, ya know? I also don't use it in the morning. Same problem.

I do like the container that the ground coffee deposits into. It's very well contained... until you open it, and coffee dust spills on your counter. Just open it over the sink and you'll be fine. But otherwise, while it's grinding nothing escapes, and I leave the unused ground coffee in the container for a few days and it seems to stay fairly fresh.

The machine is about twice the size I think is necessary for the average person or couple, but if you're going to make plenty of coffee and need to grind plenty of beans, this machine's capacity is great. It IS as tall as my actual coffee maker, though. And to be honest, I like the settings, even though I make my coffee a little less strong. So I just use a little less coffee than the machine seems to think I need. (It supposedly times it to grind for 4, 8, etc etc cups of coffee.)
