You'll never BBQ with Gas again !
Hello,
I purchased the
Weber
One
Touch
Silver
22.5" at Amazon for $84.99. It took me about 15 mins to build the
grill
. My Mom told me to pick out ANY BBQ grill and she would buy it for me (fathers day gift). I looked at 10+ charcoal grills and I picked out this one (she thought I was crazy) !! I could have purchased a $500 deluxe charcoal or gas grill - but this was the one for me. My purchase was based on so much positive feedback for this grill - it really does make your food mouthwatering! My first BBQ was perfect!! I cooked 1" Beef Steaks (marinated with Weber steak seasoning) :)
The steaks came out perfect - really the best steak I've ever had in my whole life !!! Since I saved so much money, I did purchase some Weber accessories :)
Here's what I bought:
* Weber Silver One Touch $84.99 (Amazon)
* Weber Chimney $12.99 (Home Depot)
* Weber Tool Holder $3.99 (Target)
* Weber Salt Pepper Shakers $5.99 (Target)
* Weber Grill Cover - $6.99 (Target)
* Weber Hinged Cooking Grate - $16.99 (Target)
* Weber Seasoning $3.99 (Publix)
And here is my steak recipe ...
Place checkered board cuts (1/2
inch
apart) on both sides of the steak with a sharp knife but not too deep (you still want the steak in 1 piece). This will allow it to easily absorb the marinade :)
1.Rinse the steak under water.
2.Place it on a plate.
3.Season both sides with Weber seasoning (and salt/pepper).
4.Place steak in a 1 gallon zip lock bag.
5.Pour olive oil on both sides of the steak.
6.Pour white vinegar 2 oz. in the bag.
7.Pour water 4 oz. in the bag.
8.Marinate for 1 - 2 hrs.
9.For Medium rare - Cook for 8 mins on the weber ; turnover the steak at 4 mins.
Weber is #1 :-)
TIP: Place a piece of aluminum foil over the Ash catcher prior to BBQ'g. After your done it's an easy cleanup of the ashes, simply foldup the aluminum foil and discard :) Then load another one on the ash catcher next time your BBQ. This keeps your Ash Catcher clean and in perfect condition.

Fire, baby ... and no gas!
Well, I guess it's time I do a review of this
grill
. I've owned it now for 6 years, and I've had nothing but excellent results. I've made
one
repair over the years, and I have to note of what I feel might be a flaw, but actually more of a result of lesser manufacturing than I would do if I were building a grill -- read on. All in all, this grill is the absolute best and I whole heartedly recommend it for those not wanting to traverse over to the 'dark side' of gas.
Yeah, dark side. You know -- selling out, buying the gas grill for convenience sake. Sure, maybe it's "smart", oh and it looks good on the patio, stainless or whatever -- ok, well I don't know, but I like the charcoal, I like simplicity, and I told my wife if I ever try to go gas to have her hit me over the head with a frying pan to set me straight. Ok, now that's out of the way, let's talk about the grill.
From the point of view of using it for 6 years, year-round, and thinking of how I would build my own grill, I only have one main complaint: spot welds. The industry uses these like they're going out of style. They deliver strong welds to exceed the manufacturer warranty. But, they're flawed for anyone who understands physics, and can reason that over time heat and movement of the grill will weaken a spot weld. In my case, the handle on the lid came off after about two years. Easy fix, drill holes and put bolts in...tighten. Fixed. I anticipate I'll need to do the same to the spot weld on the legs at some point. So this really is my only complaint. The design is really perfect. Circular heat flow with the dome, decent ash catcher, the charcoal, the smoke, it all works in favor of good grilling.
I'm in no position to recommend how to grill, since I am still learning and experimenting, but I will say that when dealing with real wood charcoal or briquettes, get a chimney to start your coals.
This grill was given to me and my wife as a housewarming gift after we bought our house. It's the best, and we've had some of the most delicious grilled meals off this baby. I will NEVER go to the dark side. Tried it, been there, NEVER will go back.

Weber Kettle Grill
This
grill
looks GREAT in the box behind a desk in my office!!! We have been grilling on the driveway the last few weeks since it has been 120 or hotter everyday. All we have to do is wash the driveway and throw our meat on the ground. Only drawback is the dirt but the big plus is we do not have to buy charcoal!!!! THANKS

Best Grill ever
I had a old model of this that I got from my Dad years back. I thought it was old and I could do better with a new
grill
so I tried a half dozen other brands over the years. N
one
could compete with the
Weber
.
So my wife bought me one this year for my birthday, it is the best grill I have used since I sold my Dads old one 8 years ago.
I will never switch again.
I would however go with the gold model if only to get that cool ash catcher which you cannot get after market for some reason. I have an acceptable work around made with an old coffee can but it is not anywhere near as handy as the real one.
Great grill, once you have tried it you are not likely to be satisfied with anything else for long.

Great grill/good price
Our gas
grill
gave up the good fight after seven years and we decided to return to charcoal. This
Weber
grill performs well and allows more cooking options than gas. I recommend buying the cover and chimney starter. Charcoal can be expensive, so buy in bulk at Costco or BJ's.
