Amazing sound quality

The difference in video performance is noticeable (specially if you compare it to and old version DVD, not the upconvert ones...) but the sound improvements is amazing. I have a Sony sound theater and during the battles you can hear sounds coming from everywhere... I was impressed. Besides, I got this movie very cheap, so for a Blu-Ray disc it was a no brainer.

Exceptional Quality

This is an exceptional quality Blu Ray and lifts what I would rate a 4 out of 5 film to a 5, purely due to the visuals. Why aren't all Blu Rays this good ... there needs to be a quality standard.

Better on Blu-Ray?

Really quick:

I got this as one of my 5 free movies when I bought my Blu-Ray player (PS3!), and I wasn't that excited. I remember the movie being on the slow side and not very engaging, but when I popped it in the player I found myself really enjoying it.

There's nothing special about the content, the movie's the same, but this is a great value and I'd definitely recommend it for the $15 it now cost.

Maybe things are just better on Blu-Ray :)

Overall a good movie, but too bloody

Overall I thought this was an excellent movie with one exception - Gibson just goes overboard with the blood in a few places. I guess he was trying to show that war was bloody even back during the American Revolution, but I think the point could have been made less graphic. However, this is a good, patriotic movie that has some historical basis in American history. Highly recommended for adults, but may be too bloody for kids.
