great for tot play
My son got a good 2+ years out of this table, and it's still as solid as when we first got it... except for the umbrella being a bit torn from an errant branch falling during a sudden wind gust.
After the 1st year, seeing his preferences (he played more in the
sand
than the
water
) and that we were getting tired of having to clean out the muddy water, we turned it totally into a sand table. Now that he's soon to be 5, and almost 4 feet tall, he's outgrown this table (at least for comfortable use) and we'll be building him a "big boy" sandbox later this spring. The sand/water table is still good though, and will go into storage for the next child.

Every kid should have one
I've had this for a year and it's great. During colder weather I don't put
water
in it, but my little boys don't care, though it's more fun with water. Yes, they will mix the
sand
and water and they will dump the sand on the ground. I had this on my patio where I could sweep up the sand. Right now it's on my wooden 2nd-floor deck, and I just sweep the spilled sand off so that it falls through the boards. I did try to glue the 2 bridges on since they don't stay put with the heavy toy car traffic we have, but the glue didn't hold. I like that the lid attaches securely so it can't blow away, and I like that the umbrella is included with the table (with other brands you buy it seperately). My 14-month old can easily reach the sand and he loves to play with this, too.

Great Sand and Water Table
Absolutely Love it! We have 21 month old twins and a 3.5yr old. They all play so nicely together and there's plenty of room for everyone w/o being too big. What I love most is that the top actually works and is easy to take on and off. Warning to parents, playing with
sand
will cause a mess and the kids wear a lot of it! But it brings more fun than anything else we have that all three children can play with together. Great durable product and lives up to word.
Awesome play table!
We got this for my son when he turned 1 and he has loved it soo much. He is now 2 and still enjoys it as much as he did on day 1. Not only does he loves to play with teh
sand
and
water
and the toys it comes with, he now also enjoys helpingto fill it up and drain it. This is a very durable table that has held very well up over the past year. It is always a big hit with the kids when we have parties and play dates. I would absolutely recommend this product!

Fun, but lacks longer-term durability
My children have had fun with this
activity
table. It's definitely for younger shorter kids, 2-5 years old -- older kids/adults will have to bend over kneel down or sit a chair.
The
sand
and
water
tend to easily intermix between the two compartments so that both sides resemble a seaside tide pool. This fact did not seem to bother the kids. If you're hoping this toy to maintain two pristine play environments (dry sand/clean water)look somewhere else.
The cover works great with the bungee-like tie downs and the umbrella is a great feature. If the wind gets to your umbrella, you can easily replace it with a cheapo beach umbrella. Ours has lasted two years and is still going.
Once the sand and water are in the table, it does become somewhat heavy. Trying to move it becomes a problem as the legs are only hollow plastic and their attachment to the base is somewhat lacking in strength. Over a couple of seasons and having moved/dragged the table around a few times, the legs have started to buckle and bend so that the table does not stand level any more. We have placed this in our swing-set area which is not a hard packed surface due to its being covered in wood chips -- this may have contributed to the legs buckling. Still, the table could benefit from a little strengthening in the legs and their attachment to the table base.
For longer life, leave this table in one, level place with relatively solid ground and do not drag it around. Have someone help you lift it to a new location, if needed.
