Works with Garmin GPS III and OS X

I purchased this adapter specifically to connect an old Garmin GPS III (dates to 1997) to my Mac G5 running under OS X 10.4.11. After installing the driver from the supplied CD, I connected the GPS III and started up GPSBabel+. With the GPS III's transfer mode set to Host, GPSBabel+ was able to download all of the track logs in short order.

I also tested HoudahGeo, and it successfully read the track logs, also.

Bottom line: It works!

I am a custom home theater installer, and want to pass along that this adapter works wonderfully well with Universal Remote's Home Theater Master lineup.

Great Product

The product is outstanding and easy to get to work. My paticular need required a Serial connection between my laptop (USB but no serial)and my Home Theater Controller so I could modify certain settings.

This product worked great. The disk was easy to load, and the adapter is a well built unit. I use it for performance engine tuning with my laptop and it is a durable unit that is powered thru the usb port which eliminates having to have to plug it in.

Works Great!

Tested with an HP laptop with both Windows XP and Fedora 8. Windows XP required the installation of additional drivers (which were on the included CDROM), but the stock Fedora release worked fine without additional drivers.
