Bought over the LITTLE GIANT

i was in the market for the best, such as the little giant, but they were constantly on back order. as i went to various big stores like home depot i noticed two other mfgrs. and decided that what i would use ladder for would suffice at 1/2-1/3 the price of little giant in that all had the same specifications.

case is werner had a much better value. it was taller, same weight, SAME features and ease of use, with same strength. but much less expensive.

bought a platform on ebay for only a few bucks more.

WERNER ALSO has a much better hinge system than others, it comes with a spare hinge pack for the 2nd imbedded ladder when you break them down, which is a nice feature all others don't have...would only like to have the hinges somehow attachable to the ladder instead of a carry along case...I will invent something there...looks easy.
PS: Ladder is heavy but same weight of the Little Giant. I got the big guy. BUT, if you break down the ladder and use the inner one or the outer one, you lower the weight almost 1/2....

The Wonderful Werner Telescoping MultiLadder

We live in a steeply roofed cabin. The upstairs living area has very high ceilings, roof windows and an arch window over double French doors. The first use of the ladder was straddling the stairs to hang pictures high in the stairwell, which we would not have been able to accomplish any other way. The second use was for a service person and I to make a paper template for a window covering for the arch window. We were able to work in tandum, her on one side of the ladder, me on the other, five feet off the ground, on this incredibly stable ladder. Thereafter, I removed and cleaned screens from the roof windows, and washed the roof windows, from the safety of a ladder that doesn't budge, and my husband changed the pitch on our living room ceiling fan. The ladder is quite heavy, and the two of us move it carefully. However, it is easy to use, and we are looking forward to its many outdoor uses, as well. We will be purchasing the working platform accessory momentarily.

Nice ladder, but a little hard to move around

I just received this ladder the other day, and it definitely is big and fairly heavy too. This ladder is big both in height and in bottom width even when retracted. This can make it a little difficult to maneuver if you have limited space on the other side of a short door like in an outside basement stairwell.

Something else I've noticed too. When using as a stepladder, make sure the top of the ladder does not lean on anything. This shouldn't be a problem, except when I was cleaning my gutters, some of the ground was soft. When I stepped on the ladder, the ladder leaned against the house. I went up a few rungs, and the thought occured to me that the way to collapse the ladder is to push in on both of the blue "soft touch push knob locking hinges".

Now, only one of the blue knobs was leaning against the house; and there may have been enough pressure to keep that knob from being pushed in, but I did not want to find out what would happen if that knob did get pushed in. I repositioned the ladder and watched as I climbed to make sure it wasn't going to lean on the house again!

So make sure those blue buttons don't lean against anything!

All in all, it's a very nice ladder. If you need one this big, you'll just have to put up with it's bulkyness.

I also noticed that one of the "dynamic hinges" wasn't deburred fully; but for the money($250), this ladder is a good deal.

Telescoping MultiLadder

The ladder is durable but very heavy. The step ladder is great to use and the double sided feature is a plus. All the adjustable heights are super for many projects around the house however when using the full extension of the ladder it is too heavy for 1 person to put into place. Unlike other extension ladders that have a rope to assist raising it and allow you to place the ladder where it belongs and then extend it, the Telescoping MultiLadder must be extended prior to placing it. Once fully extended the weight of the ladder is just too heavy and very difficult to maneuver.

It's Ok

As many people have stated, it's very heavy. The extra features are nice, but I probably would have been better off buying a regular extension ladder, one you extend with a rope. I also bought the stablizer bar which really doesn't fit well on this ladder (wider at the top) so I am returning it. Will buy the extension ladder covers though as the rubber end caps scuff the house. You'd think Werner had thought of that.
