who can't love a warm towel

Bought this this past christmas for my husband and myself. OH, I love it. There is nothing like a warm towel when you get out of the shower or bath. The BEST gift that I gave and received this year!!!

Why did I wait so long?

I should submit my resume to be the spokesperson for this item. I waited for more than a year before ordering it. Reading the reviews posted here actually helped make the final buy decision. I am very pleased with this towel rack and recommend it to all my visitors.

Excellent Towel DRYER

This rack is an excellent towel dryer. While it does use heat to evaporate the moisture, the basic design doesn't warm towels well unless several layers are used. As an open-air rack, all of the heat eventually enters the surrounding environment.

In order to actually warm towels, heat must be captured by multiple insulating layers, allowing thermal energy to build up over a period of a couple of hours. Somewhat oddly, this arrangement dries the inner towels faster than a single standalone towel- even though there is less exposure to the dry atmosphere.

Having warm towels is a nice luxury in the cold winter yet the real benefit comes in the summer when humidity is a problem. Some may question the cost-benefit as heaters are generally reserved for colder months. Indeed, this towel warmer will battle your air conditioning slightly. However, at 100 watts, it only produces about as much waste heat as a 100 watt incandescent light bulb.

If you generate a great number of wet towels or live in humid climate, a towel warmer is a nice way to keep your towels dry. In my case, I exercise and shower multiple times per day. Having a towel warmer has cut down significantly on my consumption of fresh towels. Moreover, the towels I use appear fresh and clean much longer, which arguably decreases my total energy consumption by reducing dryer usage.

My only complaint with this towel warmer is its lack of heating control or rapid heating. It would helpful to maintain a constant temperature regardless of how wet or dense the towels are. This would require more sophisticated electronics and large current spikes. However, even in its current form, the device is quite useful. If you live in a humid climate or use a large number of towels, you too can reduce your trips to the Laundromat.

Nice in the winter months

San Diego doesn't get that cold, but I've found that my towels always seem damp in the morning. I got this and found that although it doesn't make the towel "out of the dryer" hot, it keeps it dry and warm.

Like other posters, I've noticed that it does work best with two towels on top of each other (seems strange, I know).

It comes with either a stand alone stand or attachments to hook up to your wall. I, personally, chose the stand alone legs.

Overall, it's not super sturdy like the on the wall towel racks you'll find at hotels, but certainly does the job for me.
