King of Pop

This is the newest hits collection from the King of Pop, released due to contractual obligation. Even though everything but "One More Chance" is previously released material, this CD has to be judged based on the music. These are the songs that defined an era. "Billie Jean", "Beat It", and "Thriller" are three songs and videos that every pop artist today is still trying to duplicate. The "Bad" era is well reperesented, and the 90's are somewhat, although the number 1 R&B hit "Remember the Time" is missing. No big deal, if you own "Dangerous". Michael Jackson may never approach the level of success he once had, but he will always be the King of Pop.

Best CD EVER

I think that these songs are truly great and the CD provides a homogeneous mix. The new song, One More Chance, is really deep and you can sense that he really wants to bring himself back up. You gotta love Michael for his music, ... he is truly the greatest and i think, as a great fan, this CD is BOMB.

A Better Greatest Hits Collection

First off, like Elvis did with his #1's cd, "Number Ones" is a compliation of MJ's #1 hits in both the UK and the US. The songs featured here that did not hit #1 in the US did so in England where he is still a HUGE star.

Unlike his recent HIStory Greatest Hits Vol. 1 package, these songs are the versions as they were released as singles, some slightly edited. All in all, it is a great collection that includes the great "Smooth Criminal" and "Dirty Diana" not included on the previous collection.

My only disappointment is that we were given an unecessary live version of "Ben" instead of another new song. I like "One More Chance" as it brings us back to the older, less harsh and more pop Michael Jackson.

Even if you already have all his CD's this is still a worthy CD to add to your collection.

2. Rock With You - 1 for 4 weeks (1980)

...

First off, all of these singles were not #1 hits so the title is misleading. Some were: "Billie Jean", "Bad", "Black or White", etc. Some were not: "Thriller", "You Rock My World", "Smooth criminal.

In the 80's, Michael Jackson recorded some incredible music that was really cool and innovative at the time. His singles are still cool, but have grown kinda tired over time as classics sometimes do. But by the early 90's Michael was really starting to change and now he seems like a completely different person and with the exception of "You Are Not Alone", his music after the "Dangerous" album just falls flat. This collection really was not needed at all. His "History" album or "Vol. 1 Greatest Hits" are completely suitable collections. This does include his new song "One More Chance" .... Still, there were already collections avaliable and this really doesn't offer much.
