Met All Expectations; Am Very Happy; Buying Another One

I am SO happy with this cabinet. I ordered it, it showed up, I put it together and life is good in the garage. While putting it together required some tugging to get the pieces to fit, all I needed was a rubber mallet, a little muscle power, and it came together very nicely. It looks good and holds bottles and other items very nicely. I'm amazed with the amount of room that's available in this cabinet as compared to what I used before. In fact, I am going to buy another one.

Decent cabinet

Very easy to assemble, all plastic (no rusting) and looks good. The price ($119.99) and Free delivery from Amazon.com was the main criteria for me in purchasing the unit from Amazon. A lot of places wanted around $135.00 for the same unit, but the big difference was the shipping costs. One on-line vendor quoted $165. to ship the unit to my home! Most other places wanted around $65. to ship this unit to me. I love that FREE delivery from Amazon!

In terms of quality, I found that Rubbermaid should focus on how they cut the holes for the hinge posts. The plastic was thin at those points, and cracks around the holes had already appeared during the manufacturing process. Also, the plastic cutout "plugs" from the hinge point holes were still rattling around inside the doors, and I had to clean these out and trim the excess plastic with a knife before I assembled the unit. The result is doors that are somewhat stiff in opening and closing.

You have to level the unit on the floor very carefully using a level and wood shims in order to get the doors to line up reasonably well. Otherwise, the doors are all askew.
A rubber mallett "pursuader" helps with the assembly.

The 3 middle shelves are perforated and if something spills on the top shelf, it will drip all the way down to the bottom of the unit. Hey Rubbermaid, why not make the 3 middle shelves the same as the top and bottom and make them solid (no perforations)?

I am using this unit in my garage, so the unit won't rust like more expensive metal units, and my wife was very happy that I was able to get all my lawn and garden supplies off the garage floor and out of sight. She thought it was worth every penny!

Resin Cabinets

Easy to assemble. Relatively light to move around when empty. Small footprint with large holding capacity. Contrary to other reviews, I had no problem with doors not closing properly, but my cabinets are on a level concrete slab. Only negative is that some components held together by friction tend to separate slightly with usage.

Rubbermaid 7083 Cabinet Review

Product arrived in a timely manner and was in very good condition. I had expected to have purchased a brand new cabinet but someone has previously done all the punchouts prior to assembly with some slight tearing but not enough to effect the overall quality of the product. Suits my needs perfectly. Wish that this product were more readily available from a local retailer.
