love it!
I love the
waffle
maker
; it is easy to use and clean and the waffles are delicious.
Great for its price!!
I have only used this once, but this thing makes great
waffle
s!! you just plug it in, spray oil on the plates, pour the waffle mix all around (make sure you don't overpour else it will leak out when you close the plates) and then close the cover, 10 seconds, flip, and wait for a couple minutes until the green light comes on. Although the light is at the bottom of the
maker
now that you have flipped it over, you can see the light from the reflection on the anti-spill plate, which is not that bad.
The only down thing is that it's a bit heavy.. but it's not designed to be as portable as my cell phone...

Finally!! Waffle maker works great and is so easy to clean!
I had never owned a
waffle
maker
until three years ago. My children love waffles and I used to buy the frozen kind (sorry!) Then I got on this health kick and stopped buying them because they had partially hydrogenated vegetable oil and were pretty unhealthy.
The other two waffle makers I owned were sooooo messy and hard to clean. The waffles were soggy and one of them just broke down on me. They were both in the $20 to $30 range. I did a lot of research and chose this one because the other highly rated one in the same price range had a lot of complaints about it breaking down after a year or so whereas this one's main complaint was that there was no timer.
I just received it 2 days ago and have already used it twice. My kids love the waffles! It is very easy to use and very easy to clean (believe me, I know!) I highly recommend this waffle maker. The only reason for 4 stars is that the plates a bit hard to get out at first until you figure out how to do it.

Krups waffle maker with removable plates
Krups
is the most affordable
waffle
maker
I could find with removable plates. My previous, cheap waffle maker most likely died because I had to wash the plates on the machine, and water probably got into the motor. The Krups model takes a little experimentation to get your technique down, since there was no instruction on how much batter to use per waffle and there is no timer. There are 6 temperature settings too. And you are supposed to lock the handle down and rotate after 10 seconds. My first efforts involved way too much batter, which dripped all over the machine and rose so much in 10 seconds that I couldn't get the handle locked in place to make the rotation. But on the good side, it wasn't too hard to extract the disaster. The plates are really non-stick. However, after that I did lightly brush the plates with oil. Now that I have mastered the measurements and temperature setting, the machine works like a charm. And the plates never get batter stuck on them, so I haven't even had to remove them for cleaning. The waffles are crisp on the outside and still moist on the inside. And while it does take about 4 minutes to make two waffles, on pressing makes two large waffles.

Just a Little Less than Perfect....
Despite all the negative reviews about this product, I decided to go ahead and order it. I have not been unhappy with my decision. The folding handle is a really great idea for storage and also for transporting the
waffle
iron . The only real downside to this product is that it does not heat evenly. I had read that comment in previous reviews, but decided it was not bad enough to keep me from purchasing it. I still feel that way. Most of my waffles come out unevenly cooked, but it doesn't keep them from tasting good. I use this waffle iron at my church to prepare waffles on Sunday morning for a non-profit coffee shop that I manage. Everyone loves the waffles it produces. It took me awhile to figure out how to get the plates out of the machine, but now I can't believe I ever had a problem.
All in all, I'm very satisfied and hope this machine continues to keep me happy by turning out excellent waffles.
