Excellent, Long Time Coming to DVD

Classic Hayley Mills film. Glad it finally came out on DVD. Such joyous and innocent films like this are not made nowdays. Do hope one of her more serious films, The Chalk Garden with Deborah Kerr and her father will also be soon available on DVD. This film shows an even greater depth to her acting talent.

Wonderful movie time experience with the grandkids.

We really enjoyed watching this dvd with our grandchildren.

golden age Walt Disney movie

In mood and style and tone, this movie belongs with the 1940s Walt Disney movies. It has the same look and feel. The ragtime music is new, but otherwise it is the same type of film. Relaxing, non-stressful, just the thing after a long day's commute. Family-oriented.
If you like this type of movie, you'll probably also like Little House on the Prairie, or Mary Christmas or A Thanksgiving Miracle, although the last two are a bit more realistic.

Great start...ends weak...

This movie started out great. Great story, great character building, and then whammo!!!! It is almost as if the story writer(s) got bored with the storyline and decided to quickly write up an ending just to end the movie. What a shame!!! It was good up until the "Femininity!" song. After that it fell apart quickly and left a lot of loose ends leaving the viewer with a lot of unanswered questions.
