Great combination.

The most "powerful" software is of little use if it costs too much or takes too much effort. Works is a great combination of features, price, and user-friendliness.

OpenOffice is a free download, and it is good, but the same effort it takes to learn and use half its capabilities can put all Works' tools at your disposal. Even MS Office is not quite as automated or easy as Works, and it costs many times more.

I have a family member who uses Works to make databases, spreadsheets, and reports that I have a hard time replicating with MS Office. I supposedly have the more advanced software, but she gets more work done...

Updating Software

Keeping my software up to date is important to me. I was no longer able to update Microsoft Works 99; and it had become an important adjunct. I was glad that Amazon had the new version at a reasonable price. My previous saved files were updated with the new installation with no problems.

Myself,wife and daughter age 14 are very pleased with Mickrosoft works 8.0. Very easy to compryhend happy with scheduling, printing of envelopes and word documents. I persoely like the history section easy access to previous work done,

I've used the 'Works' program for many years, but the most recent computer that I bought form DELL had a hoky Word-Perfect program that I dislike.
I'm very comfortable with the Works programs.

I'm a retired senior citizen.
