The Passion of Christ

The Passion of Christ is a truely different movie about the cruxifiction of Jesus Christ that all people should see in order to more fully appreciate what he went through during the Good Friday-Easter weekend ordeal of 1st century Roman "Capital Punishment" execution.
For Believers it will give you a very detailed view of what Jesus did when He took on the our sins and died in our place and will leave you with the decision to make regarding taking your faith and belief for real and living it instead of just hiding behind it.Time has come to walk the walk.
For those that don't know about their own personal belief and how Jesus fits into it this movie will give you some new food for thought. The ministry fo a Jewish carpenter, who's claim of being the Son of God and His examples of treating others and defying the law for the sake of doing what he claimed was God's will, should chalange you to consider if He is who He claimed to be, God's Son come down to earth for a brief moment in time with a message you might want to explore deeper.
The way Mel Gibson captured that message leaves each of us with a decision to make in our own personal live about who we say He is.

Puts things in perspective to be sure

I didn't catch this movie when it was in the theaters but have meant to see it for a long time. I finally did this past Easter season... Good Friday to be precise.

Those of the Roman Catholic faith would be familiar with the "sorrowful mysteries"...specifically the agony in the garden, scourging at the pillar, crowning with thorns, carrying of the cross and the crucifixion. It's one thing to imagine them and yet another to witness them in gruesome detail - as presented in this movie.

My wife and I reflected on the movie afterward and she found it's graphic intensity to be a bit much. It was hard to watch. That's what I found particulary poignant. Witnessing it in gorey detail on screen is one thing. Imagine actually being there for real. You can see why St. Peter denied Christ three times... wouldn't you?

Some non-Catholics don't understand the special role Mary has in our faith. Maybe it's lost on some but to me, her very significance in the eyes of God, and the Catholic tradition is underscored in this movie.

In any event, if you've ever wondered what "scourging at the pillar" really means or shrugged off the significance of Jesus's life, death and resurrection, this movie will provide some prospective.

I'd put it in the same category as "Saving Private Ryan". Not a movie I'd care to watch over and over but one that should certainly be watched when the topic of reducing Veterans rights is presented.

This movie should be seen by those who struggle with their own crosses and need a booster shot in their faith.

Excellent movie, we watched it on Good Friday, plan on making it a yearly event.

Jesus Christ is still king and my LORD !!

This was a very good and powerful movie! I cried when Jesus was crucified, and I'm not the teary guy when it comes to movies. I just wish it had more character development of Jesus' disciples and the healings Jesus did.

Overall, I thought it was spiritually-moving. I think this will be the only masterpiece for many generations!
