Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.........
While I've had the pleasure of playing abit of the original
Kingdom
Hearts
game, it wasn't until I played Kingdom Hearts:
Chain
of
Memories
that I actually took any interest in the series. Don't get me wrong, I'm a strong supporter of both Square-Enix and Disney. It was just, at first sight, Kingdom Hearts didn't quite gel with me. So, recently, I go into my local videogame store around payday looking for me a portable RPG to play. Sadly, the Nintendo DS nor the PSP didn't have any games that I hadn't already played so I took a look at the Gameboy Advance section. While there were other games I wanted to play, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories won out in the end. I don't know whether it was outstanding boxart, the fact that the store clerk told me it was an excellent game, or the fact that Donald and Goofy appealed to my inner child...the more I looked at the game, the more I wanted it.
Upon booting up the game, I could tell from the opening intro FMV cutscene that production values were definitely high on this game. I was simply amazed that, despite its' technical limitations, the system was able to do it at all....but it was. The game itself, although changed into more of a card-battle type action-RPG, was a deeply challenging one that felt like I was playing the console game. From what I've heard, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is more of a recap of the first game but with a different story. You see, in this story, Sora journeys through Castle Oblivion looking for his friends. As he does, he battles through another version of his memories. Upon completing the game, you can play through again as Riku with a different storyline as well. So, you get two games in one...basically. While I've yet to touch the second game, one thing is for sure- Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is one of the best GBA experiences I've had since Golden Sun. If you've read any of my reviews; you'd know, by now, that Golden Sun is one of my all-time favorites. So, to make the comment I made, you know it'd have to be something special.
While this game will definitely appeal to Kingdom Hearts fans looking for another Final Fantasy cameo filled fix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories will also appeal to Casual gamers as well.
Be forewarned, though, this game isn't no Yu-Gi-Oh! or Duel Masters and it's a very challenging game..indeed. So, come in looking for a challenge.
Hopefully, Tetsuya-san and the fine folks at Square-Enix will continue the Kingdom Hearts story with more portable games(yet, without the card-battle angle). I hope so, anyways.

Loved this game!!!
I couldn't put it down!!! Rarely do I see a game through to the end but I did this one. It has such high replay value. I finished it and picked up the first
Kingdom
e
Hearts
game for PS2. The graphics are good and the gameplay is downright fantastic. I loved being able to fight and use cards in the battle as well. It sounds confusing but it really is not hard to pick up. I high recommend this game!!! I am still looking for another game that is just as good.
just to let you know the theme song of kingdom hearts..
When you walk away you don't hear me say
please-- oh baby! don't go!
simple and clean is the way you are making me feel tonight.
it's hard to let it go..
( and YES i am a girl )

Kingdom hearts
Unfourtunately I have not gotten my hands on this game yet but I do love
Kingdom
hearts
and since it's kingdom hearts it cant be that bad. Even though I havent played it I have done a lot of reserch on it and it is a good game other than the whole card thing. It is pretty important if you are going to be playing kingdom hearts 2 because this game comes between kh1 and 2 which are both great games. If you dont play it it wont be imposible to understand kh2 but it will help. If you like seeing good graphix and stuff this is a must have gba game. In fact it won the award for best gba graphics. so its a good game.

A Teen's review: 13
Eh, lets start off with the card battle system. In the first game the battle system was much more understandable, as in just mashing the x button for hours upon hours straight, and in
chain
of
memories
it is much much different.
My 9 year old sister gave up on this game a long time ago because of the card battling idea. Unless you are 12+, your not going to be able to work the confusing battle system.
The plot of Sora losing his memory as he gets farther and farther in the game is interesting and different, which seems to be the only enjoyable part of this game.
Play KH2 (
Kingdom
Hearts
2) instead, its much better the this. Although to mainly understand the beginning of KH2, you need to play through this game throughally, or else you will be ultimatly confused with the beginning.
I recommend renting this game first. Once you get the feel and understanding of the battle system, the game becomes a lot better.
