Reads like a novel!
This was one of the most enlightening pieces I have read that truly illuminates who our president-elect is. Barack Obama writes this book like an award winning novelist. It's smooth, eloquent and passionate. Well done, highly recommended.
Should be required reading
This most fascinating and revealing book, along with "The Audacity of Hope" should be required reading for every high school student in this country. Indeed, anyone who cares to understand the hopes and aspirations of our President-elect, based on where he comes
from
, what he has gone through, and how he thinks should read these books. They read like novels; they are more exciting than fiction. Hard to put down.

Enlighting!
This is a amazing journey, the true American journey. This is a great book, you will enjoy! It's a
story
of a boy coming into his own, with the twist and turn that life gives for you. You become educated, to just accept all people
from
all walks of life and corners of the world. Young men need to read this story it's motivational, emotional and comforting.

Dreams from My Father
After listening to Barack Obamas' speeches I expected the book to be interesting. It was! It made understanding Obama's youth a key to the man he has become.A man who can understand the struggles, and joys of the little guy.A man who will do his best to carry out his determination to make the changes our country desperatly needs.

Finally, a President with international understanding
Very well written and so wise and introspective for someone who was only in his 30s at the time. My favorite part is when he visits Kenya and meets people living in poverty. Like people he has met living in poverty in Indonesia, Hawaii, New York or Chicago, some have a hopeful look and some have a desperate look. Obama looks for similarities between people in similar conditions regardless of where they live. We are so lucky to have a President who sees desperation as a result of poverty, not its cause.
