My Life by Bill Clinton is outstanding!!

I admire Bill Clinton as a leader. To read about his difficult childhood and to see the pictures of his family made him seem like someone close to me. I think part of his leadership ability comes from the fact that he has lived a life like so many people live- a hard life. Yet he has been able to rise up out of that and be a beacon of hope for all people. I have the book and my 78 year old father requested the book for Christmas. Both he and my mother who grew up during the depression have enjoyed the book.

Big type book

I gave this as a gift and the lady was absolutely thrilled. Saved money over book store price thru Amazon even tho I used 2-day mailing.

fascinating look

The reason I bought this book is because I come to admire Bill Clinton. Yes, he had indiscretions, yes he lied to America, but I was willing to overlook all that to find out more about this fascinating person. It was refreshing to read about Bill Clinton's life from childhood in segregated south to becoming the most powerful leader of the free world. His admission of his success and failures reminds us that he is like the rest of us immortals. I'm certain there are a few stories he left out for a sequel, but the book clips along at a decent rate and I never felt bored or cheated. Whether you are a Clinton supporter or not, this is an interesting autobiography. Please buy this book, you will not be disappointed.

Tons of Information

I was amazed at the volume of information that this book contained. I was also saddened at the lack of information regarding the women in Bill's life, i.e. Jennifer and Monica. While he didn't deny any involvement he did not discuss it in detail like everything else. If you are interested in his accomplishments then read this book. If you are looking for some inside scoop to his relationship.. you won't get any here.

Autobiography

'My Life' is a long and detailed autobiography of William Jefferson Clinton, the forty-second president of the United States of America. Though this book is very long, approximately one thousand pages, it was entertaining enough to read the whole thing. It is obvious that he kept a detailed diary his whole life.

Pres. Clinton's book is not the normal biography. It is written in chronological order starting with his boyhood. Though as you read it you will find yourself jumping all over time. He does this whenever he feels he has to defend his actions. And I felt the whole book is about trying to defend his legacy and set the record straight. The book seems very self-serving and he seems more concerned about what we think of him, instead of just writing what transpired.

Though I did find his book very easy to read. I did feel as if he I was sitting on a covered front porch with a class of ice tea and listening as Pres. Clinton spins an interesting tale. I had no problem reading the entire book and did find it enjoyable despite his agenda. He does share some of his shortcomings and how he overcame them. This is also a story of a boy making good in America. He comes from rural state and used every opportunity America offers each and every one of us. And that message is worth sharing.

Do not pick up this book looking for dark details of his life. You will not find it. But I did learn much about how he saw himself and his view on affairs that affected or touched his life. I do recommend reading this book.
