Awesome Book - Practical Advice

With only 15-18 years until retirement, I have been on a quest to learn as much as I can about money as quickly as possible. This book is a no-nonsense education that will have my wife and I ready for that time by setting and taking action on clearly defined goals, getting our finances and financial paperwork under control, and motivating our family and friends to follow suit. Even if your goal is to have $1 million over 30-40 years and you only get to $800,000, you are a lot further ahead than those who say, "I will start tomorrow." Don't start tomorrow... start NOW. This is a very easy to read book with alot of checklists, quizzes and tools/resources to make your dreams a reality; however, only YOU can take those necessary steps. First is Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet."

Second is this one. No kidding. Actualy, these books should be read BEFORE you get married. If you are already married, its not too late. I also suggest Start Late, Finish Rich for those older idiots who didn;t pay attention to your parents when they said, "Save your money."

I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve their financial situation or just refresh their inspiration to stay on the right path. David Bach has been my favorite financial advisor ever since I first saw him on Oprah several years ago. The founder of the "latte factor," his advice is clear and simple, and it works. Bach takes the intimidation out of money talk and makes it easy for anyone to understand. A collector of all his books that I refer to repeatedly, I have given this book to several newlywed couples as the most practical gift they probably receive.

Good book ...

but difficult to sit down & read. I found myself jumping around & reading.

A good reference for young couples starting out

This book would have been very helpful to my husband and I 6 years ago when we got married. However, since we both work at a bank and are already on the right track with paying off debt, saving for retirement, etc., the book was a little remedial for us.
This would make a great wedding present for young newlyweds!
