Very helpful and practical advice!

I bought this book after a break-up and it really helped me a lot. I would read it every day, especially when I was feeling really depressed. I tore the book up, hightlighting, underlining, circling, writing all over it because so many things stuck out to me. The advice is very practical and helpful. It is advice that anyone can follow and try to stick to. Best piece of advice: getting a break-up buddy to help you get over your ex. You can't do it alone and you need friends to lean on/cry on their shoulder/help keep you accountable/call and just say, "Hey I'm calling you instead of him." Also good: get yourself a notebook or something to go along with the book. It will be your own journal space to do some of the activities suggested in the book. Bottom line: this book helped me get through a very hard break-up and could help anyone going through the same. I highly recommend it!!!

Great mix of laughter & tears - every girl needs a copy

Every girl needs a copy - or two. One for yourself and one for when a friend goes through a similiar situation. I read this book and it make me laugh out loud and it also made/helped me cry, it was the perfect mix. After I read the book, I have recommended the book several times. I had read all of his other books and this is by far my favorite. His wife and him made an incredible team making this book!

A must-read for those who are undergoing a break-up!

I've lent this book to more than five friends already--it's THAT good. Sure, it has the same nuggets of advice you get from any other break-up book (be careful of rebounding, break-up sex is never good, don't call or see him/her, it's normal to feel unloved, etc)...but it's presented in a witty, funny, and non-preachy way that actually helps you see the break-up in a whole new light. That said, I wasn't embarrassed to pass it on to friends who needed a post-break up pick-up ("No, it's not a self-help book. Just. Read. It.")

It even has a section in the back for guys. Oh, did I mentioned I lent it to my OLDER brother, as well?

Definitely helpful for anyone recovering from a broken relationship

I went through a very difficult break up where I didn't get "closure" or answers as to why things went down the way they did. This was helpful because it literally shook me by the shoulders and kept me from doing stupid things (calling, emailing, drunk dialing, etc.). The authors share a lot of personal things about themselves and their experiences in relationships. It's a great touch because they are very honest (some of the things they have done are borderline "psycho" - ha ha), it helps you relate to them, and you know you're not alone. Plus, you know they have been through it and know what they are talking about. I laughed and I cried; sometimes both at once. But I ended up in a better place; and I realized I didn't need closure to move on.

If you have just broken up with someone, this is a good book to help boost you back in the right direction. Sometimes, we all need a little wake up call!
