A+ Business History
Though access to the founders of
Google
seems to be lacking, the
story
and insight of Google's rise in the world of
technology
,
business
and culture have been very well documented.

Everything you wanted to know on "The google economy"
It is an insightful description of rise and rise of two extra-ordinary individuals Sergey and Page. Born-intellect's these two young men thought of a crazy idea of downloading the entire internet on their computers, while studying at Stanford.
Google
was born with this crazy idea. Google's rise as a

ful
business
model was rather unplanned but was driven by an urge to create an extra-ordinarily good search engine. "The Google Economy" as it is referred to was created as the company started realizing the potential of ad-revenues that can generated every
time
somebody ran a search. Google's ad-based model is different in the sense that ads are strategically displayed on a clear, neat white webpage alongside search results--Google ensures that only the most relevant ads are placed. Google sacrifices its revenues to keep its web-page clean, it accepts only text ads, no jazzy, col

giant, introducing various new product offering though maintaining its lead in Search.

Entertaining story on Google with no more pretensions
Mr Vise reports in brief and easy to read chapters the development of
Google
. Starting from the friendship of its two founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin as Ph D students at Stanford University up to today, when Google is a verb and a
success
ful public company.
The book is written in a colloquial tone and works in two directions one the historical evolution of the company and the other deals with very concrete themes related to Google, like the creation of Google News or the Library project. A nice thing is that chapters are self-contained giving the possibility of browsing back and forth as one might like without loosing the thread.
The book manages also to describe the main characters and its
story
in a quite candid way wihtout flattering but keeping as much as possible to the facts. From the other side there are few things that are criticised from Google. Probably the main topic is concerning ad-fraud where the company does not disclose too much information compared to its competitors. (Might be there is no more to criticise).
The appendixes are quite interesting, including a series of Google hacks and the aptitude test for the Google Lab which gives an indication of the calliber that Google expects from you in case you want to write some code for them.
