evolution in guard game

After buying diffirent books to get a solid guard, i finaly ran into this book. This book changed my whole guard game. For me this was a change in guard as it was for streetfighting after UFC 1.
My old guard is now a back up and additonal to the the Rubber guard.
Hopefully Eddie Bravo will come up with more clever updates of other positions.
The main thing i was missing in my guard game was to keep control of my opponent when transisting to diffirent submissions. This book gives a clear guideline to what sequence to follow. Also his flow chart is very usefull and makes it easy to memorise all the techniques and when to use it.
Though i am not training at a regular basis due to circumstances, i have been following Brazilian Jiu-jitsu from the beginning (started training with Remco Pardoel (UFC 2 and introducer of BJJ in Europe)just before the UFC started)and several other teachers in Brazil. Until now i didn't feel comfortable in the guard, if i would have to use it on the street. This book makes striking more difficult for your opponent and still able to submit him!!

This is the best!

I have read many Jiu Jitsu books in the past and I have to say that this book is the best on the subject that I have every had the pleasure to read. Eddie Bravo has a knack for simply explaining techniques and the transitions involved that other authors just do not. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject; even if you don't think you can do the rubber guard stuff. The book is in full color and almost every part of each technique is shown from at least two different camera angles. This creates a much more vivid idea of what you are supposed to do with the technique as opposed to other jiu jitsu books where you just kind of assume how to perform the technique. I can't say enough good stuff about this book, just buy it.

Mastering the Rubber Guard

I currently practice and compete in MMA and have found this book truely amazing. This book is writen in such a way that every move is easy to follow. Everything that Eddie Bravo explains is then shown in clear, precise pictures and from different angles. If you only master one of the moves shown in this book it will be worth every penny. I have already used a couple of the moves when rolling with my training partners. I plan to tie them all up in my rubber guard and half guard with in months. Thats the plan anyway, I'm sure they will have other ideas

Solid System, good for Pros & Joes

As a white belt transitioning into blue this system has filled in a lot of gaps & shown me how to work the half/butterfly & guard as one complete system. The main thing is you can tell this comes straight out of competition, because it works!!

Greatest advance on the gaurd I've seen

Anyone not recommending this book because it endorses an illigal substance is an idiot. While I don't agree with everything Mr. Bravo says, you cant deny the contribution he has made to the gaurd. Adapting the rubber gaurd over traditional wrist control will completely revolutionize the way you approach mma or submission wrestling. It is SO much more practical and effective. Moreover, the book is well written, very easy to follow (tons of large descriptive color photo's), and fun to read. Mr. Bravo connects every move and position beautifully (at the beginning of the book there's a fantastic flow chart connecting every move and position).

Back to the drug issue, if you dont like drugs then dont do them. You don't have to agree with everything Mr. Bravo says in order to appreciate and learn the great advances he's made. I think the idea of rolling high is nuts (I hate doing anything but watching a movie high), however, again, this does not take away from the fact that the rubber guard section of this book is invaluable. But, if the endorsement of pot hurts your fragile sensibilities so much that you couldn't possibly read it because you cant stop shaking, then good; the rest of us can walk all over you on the mat.
