Perfect for beginners and for experts!
As you can deduce inmediately, english is not my mother tongue. EZ's "
Knitting
without
tears
" is THE knitting book for beginners or for experts. I've been knitting for more than 30 years and I learned many tips and hints from Elizabeth Zimmermann's "Knitting without tears". Something re
all
y important about this book is that we can enjoy knitting with no stress, we can be creative with no fear, and most of all, from the
basic
s to the most elaborated you can face yarn and needles with confidence because everything is in those pages: how to start, how to solve problems, how to knit for YOU (every body is different), how to finish as a pro...
If I ever have to chose only one book to teach or to learn knitting, "Knitting without tears" is, by far, THE ONE (even for someone that doesn't speak english like me!)
One more thing: once I had this book in my hands, I order all the other books and videos by EZ!!!

Great Reference Book
Elizabeth was one of a kind. If you were fortunate enought to have attended one of her
Knitting
Camps, it was like being at camp with your best friend! The knitting community can still learn from this wise woman through her books. And reading her books is like sitting down for a chat with her.! I treasure each and every one of the books in my library that were written by this great knitter!
Very helpful
I had this book years ago. It has a lot of information & hints to making
knitting
interesting.
Lovable, but not the only knitting book you'll ever need
I learned to knit when I was 8 or 9 by reading a very old Red Heart booklet that showed one how to make an afghan, baby sweater, poncho, and a pair of men's socks. Not one word of how to change them into things I might want to make. Luckily, at that age, I could practice by making oddly-shaped Barbie blankets and graduate into potholders--none of which needed a pattern. Looking back--in
all
honesty I don't think I would have done as well if I were trying to learn from this book. I think it's too daunting for the novice, and I have not used it when teaching people to knit. That being said, if you have made a few scarves, you are ready for this book. As a knitter of 20+ years I can tell you that your life will be easier if you learn the fundamentals of
knitting
and can learn to branch out from, or edit, patterns, or even create your own. EZ is the best at breaking down the fundamentals of knitting & removing the rigidity that so many of today's books inspire. I have never & will never make any of the patterns in this book, but I think it is well worth the money & invaluable reading if you want to become a great knitter.

I have been purchasing a lot of
knitting
and crocheting books lately because i wanted to get new ideas. My first impression when i opened this book was to be a bit upset that it wasn't what i expected but after i started leafing through i started reading bits and pieces and actu
all
y i got some good ideas from her and all i got to say is that don't judge THIS BOOK BY THE FIRST PAGES OR EXPECT SOMETHING ELSE BY LOOKING AT THE COVER. It's informative and that is what i wanted so i shouldn't complain.
