Love IT.....Never thought I would

Because of all the cancellations without reason over the last few years, instead of picking a few new shows to check out because they sounded good, I recorded the pilot for every new show with the high hopes that I would be pleasantly surprised and get hooked on something that might stay around for more than half a season or one season. I didn't think there was a chance in ++++ that I would like anything about this show but was instantly hooked and could not wait for season 2. Season 2 was just as good, if not better than season one except for the fact of the writer's strike cutting everything short.

This show is very unique but not out-there unique. Different from anything on television because it deals with so much in every episode.

Women enjoy the drama and men anjoy the hardhitting cut-throat world of football and sports. Middle-class families, poor families, really great marriages, really bad marriages, amazing parents who struggle with stricter rules to kids who roam free with no rules at all-and practically no parents. Community outreach - neighbors helping eachother, the struggle to care for a grandma with multiple illnesses, a realistic view of raising a family, the loving marriage that can make it through anything, the teenage years that have certain features that echo everyone's teenage years, no matter when you were born etc. There are a wide range of family values, a wide range of spiritual beliefs - from none to very strong beliefs. Bi-racial friendships exploring the good and the bad, the easy and the difficult situations, a primary character who is young and vibrant and paralyzed. Not so popular kids being main characters-equally important to the story as the popular ones.Consequences for your actions, ethical struggles, real everyday life. ALL THIS AND IT'S FUNNY AND HEARTWARMING TOO! For every dramatic storyline, there is also heartfelt feel good moments and laugh outloud moments too. I can only imagine how inspirational it is to so many others like myself.

This show has almost everything - except of course the support of the network.

It's a great show, different than any other, with excellent actors, good storyline and very realistic in most cases. Therefore, it will likely get cancelled and never return for season 3 and again, my heart will be broken and I will have to bury my ever increasing disdain for the television executives.

PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE FOR SEASON 3 - AFTER ALL, IT'S NOT OUR FAULT THE WRITER'S WENT ON STRIKE. NONE OF THE RATINGS WERE WORTH ANYTHING LAST YEAR (or any year actually).

The series was ordered as a gift for our children in Israel...it came in record time and perfect condition.

Awesome & Excellent Show

I hope the fan base for FNL Expands. I hope people can get into this 2nd season until the new season comes out in 2009. For some reason this show has just had trouble picking up a large fan base, which is odd because it is such a great show in every way.

Each cast member contributes something wonderful to this show, Kyle Chandler & Connie Britton are amazing and can deliver what they need to, even with just a look or just a one word dialogue.

The writers have done a great job letting us get to know the characters and always rooting for the underdog.

(Come on Tim, you are doing a great job becoming the man everyone knows you are inside, don't worry, Lyla will come around, just be patient !)

Please Please buy this, or rent it first and then you'll be back for a purchase, you can even watch free episodes online, but believe me you'll want this for your own DVD collection as soon as you watch one episode.

Spread the word to your friends and family about the greatness of Friday Night Lights so we can enjoy this show for years to come.

Great Series

This is a really great series to watch. Received it quickly and was new and in package

good filming quality

When I first bought this product (Season 1) I wasn't sure what to expect. I have since been captivated by the stories of the characters. What I appreciate the most is the way it is filmed. The spectator feels as though he is part of the scene. The stories are realistic and interesting and the characters are heartwarming. The only negative aspect of the series, especially in the second season is the implication of religion, it feels too aggressive et way too present (that is just a personal feeling).
It's worth a shot though!
