Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem (Unrated Edition)

First, I would like to say that I love anything to do with Aliens or Predators. With that said, my review might be a little skewed. The movie was definately better than the first Alien vs. Predator movie. I do not think that with all of the trouble if takes to capture the Alien Queen, that the Predator elders would have let her just walk out the door. Well, I am not here to critique the first movie, so let us look at the second one. The premise of the movie was excellent but I do not think that only one Predator elder would have come. The Predator/Alien hybrid was another subject that I found some what weird. You would think that with all of the dealings that the Predators have with the Aliens, they would have the technology to pick up or know if one their kind was infected.

I did really enjoy the movie and found it very entertaining, which is all a movie is supposed to do, right. I hope that Hollywood will not let this franchise die and find someone who will do it justice. There are so many different ways to take this subject matter and any way is better than no way.

BACK TO BASICS

After the box office flop that was AVP,fans of both franchises felt letdown and unsatisfied. However,after a few years of waiting a sequal has surfaced that has fans believing the series is finally moving in the right direction.AVP Reqeim brings back the two baddest creatures in sci-fi history to reak havok in a small western town.The plot continues exactly where AVP1 left off.After departing earth the Predators are attacked by a mutant Alien/Predator hybrid born from the bosom of the dead predator from AVP1.After crash landing in the wilderness,the aliens begin reproducing at horrific speed,thanks to the local populace.A lone Predator is sent to clean up the mess,eliminating countless Aliens and all evidence of an invasion.Unlike its predecessor,AVP2 brings tons of R-rated action that fans have come to expect from these creatures,with plenty of fights and relentless action chocked full of guts.A good cast and some decent plot and acting help round out this new and obviously improved AVP adventure.Having returned to its R-rated roots,it's safe to say that the AVP series is back on track and that fans of the series will not be dissapointed by this lastest installment.I thoroughly enjoy this film and I hope you will as well.

Left a bit upset but not disappointed

The Strause Brothers make Requiem exceptionally superior in most catagories and stands where the first Alien vs. Predator fell. Paul W.S. Andersen's 2004 Aliens vs. Predator was criticized for being too lightweight in the gore-and-guns department however Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem offers a marked improvement in both categories. This film was quite good, but could have been better. None of the actors in this film are of any particular renown, there should have been a story with the characters to make you interested. Also the scenes showing people been killed were too violent and over rated, this movie did fail to keep up with the high expectations and will disgust most fans of the series, but with this said, it is worth seeing.

This movie was better than expected with the level of fight scenes between alien and predator being quite limited and short but the movie is entertaining through out. To most this is a movie you will either like or dislike. The Strause Brothers did a better attempt than Paul W.S. Andersen at making an entertaining film.
