Buckingham Continues to Make New and Interesting Music
In a general musical landscape of boredom and monotony we still have Lindsey Buckingham. His music remains fresh and creative. This music is a pefect follow-up to his last outing.

will not disappoint! Lindsay's song writing and guitar licks are one of a kind.
He gets better
There is life after Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey Buckingham just gets better with every solo album. While most of the other core Fleetwood Mac members (later days) struggles to stay relevant, Lindsey is a testament of how you could nick a Mac and still sounds great.
Gift of Screws: It's the thought that counts, right?

was promised to rock much more than Buckingham's previous release, 'Under The Skin'. It does to some extent, but just barely. To this long time Buckingham fan, Gift of Screws sounds very much like Under the Skin. Buckingham has said that some of the songs on Screws date far back in time, but they are given much the same production style as the songs on Under the Skin. Unfortunately, that production style includes the much over-used echo effect on Lindsey's vocals. Thankfully the echo is used a bit less on 'Screws', but just the same, it often ruins the flow and feeling of the song. Lindsey was alwas touted as a recording studio genious and innovater, but it seems that much of his production creativity he demonstrated so well on his first two solo albums and on the Mac album 'Tusk' has largely been lost or forgotten.
There are a few gems on 'Screws', and Lindsey's already stellar guitar playing just seems to get better with time. Unfortunately, this release misses the mark and comes accross sounding like a CD full of demos in much the same way that 'Skin' did. Even the CD packaging has the same drab color scheme that was applied to 'Skin'.
Lindsey still holds on to his spot as one of the more talented guitar players and songwriters in music today. This fan hopes that he will release a CD that will showcase those talents much more effectively.
